The staff was incredibly welcoming and kind
not really anything
Breakfast provides a wide variety of options. The food is prepared and presented well. The facility is emasculate well staffed and maintained.
Carpet needs updating. The color is dark, disinteresting, depressing and a bit musty smelling. It also creates a problem for your less mobile guest by being a "trip hazard" and preventing guests from easily rolling their luggage throughout the hotel.
Nice and calm location, cozy and clean rooms :)
my experience was great here on the first night the lady at the front desk let me swim for five minutes longer
Clearly set up for families, this hotel has a quite warm indoor pool and some nice corners to sit outside or bbq. It's also well situated for restaurants and kids places (farms, museums, etc.)
Rooms could use a refresh - paint chipped, carpet hideous and worn, bathrooms a bit worse for wear.
Breakfast might have been nice, but everything was always out even when there weren't many people there. It's hard to enjoy a meal with no milk, coffee, cottage cheese, eggs, etc. There was only one person we could see trying to do it all.
Our room smelled awful of mildew that we had to keep the windows open all night. We were on a strict schedule and didn’t have time to make the staff aware until late that night so we just roughed it. In the morning we made the front desk aware and was told to call the manager the next day since she wasn’t available at that time which would be after we checked out. I left several messages for her and never received a call back. I would not recommend this property to anyone and will continue to try to contact the manager now through email or escalate it if needed
Memorable hotel needs an update for their rooms and still functions for the purpose. Clean suites, has several credit card/coin operated laundry machines, wonderful pool and exercise fitness room. Free breakfast to start the day off with the best customer service around. The sister property, Hilton Garden Inn Melville, works in conjunction with the Homewood Suites in the event one property needs it - always a plus. Free parking, effective business office, on site ATM, marketplace with snacks, drinks, laundry essentials, chips, drinks, candy, and other variety of items. Each suite comes with comfortable bedding which provides restful sleep, many towels for a refreshing experience, excellent water pressure in the shower, kitchens with all the things you need for a long term stay, and a comfortable living space for the home away from home feeling. Definitely the halls and suites need an update would be welcome to continue the excellent service!
Front desk is great! Jelissa, Jessica, and another woman that I couldn't get her name were awesome at the front desk! Super attentive and caring.
Hotel room is great as well! Traveled with a partner and the room has more than enough space for the both of us. Area in Melville is also very safe
The front desk staff were so accommodating, especially Jessica when we arrive and when they checked out. Jessica was there both times. We stay at this location a couple of times a year and our requests are professionally accommodated. Thank you.
Upon arriving at the hotel, I was greeted by a kind, warm, and talented person at the front desk (Jessica). Jessica asked about our travels while offering popcorn, and water to my children. Such a kind gesture, especially needed after a 4 hour drive. She also told us about local markets, and beaches.
Lastly, the hotel’s exterior, interior and amenities are great—we’ll be back soon!
I stay at the Homewood Suites once a month for work and haven’t had a bad stay yet. Staff are very helpful, rooms are clean and the weekly dinner is a bonus!
Everything!!!
Location, cleanliness, spacious rooms, and friendly staff!!
Nothing
Over the years the quality and apparently ability to have decent ac has gone down with this chain so we rarely go, but could not find a good VRBO in this area at the time for our family. Check in was slow with one person working. We had the two bed 1K/2Q suite. The dishwasher was coming out of its compartment, there were no towels and worst of all they control the ac and we had to constantly try to work with it to get any sort of a cool room making for not great sleep. I've had this issue in another Hilton and I realize more and more places fix the ac so the guest can't adjust to their comfort level. That is a huge issue for me since I need it cool to have a chance at sleeping well. It would either blow nonstop or continuously cut off leaving a very stuffy room. As a guest one should be able to adjust cooling and heating to their comfort level. It really makes a difference in a stay, but is another thing unfortunately in this industry where the guests pay the same for less. I can still usually find normal places where we can adjust temp which should be the norm, but this trip was slim pickings for the timing of our trip.
As for breakfast, I've never been a big Hilton breakfast fan and other chains with free breakfast have been better. One person in our family enjoyed and the others were like ok this is what "free" breakfast is--ok enough.
The halls and elevator had bad odors as well. The grounds and rooms did appear mostly clean though.
They do not have non dog or non pet floors for allergy sufferers so keep that in mind, though we did not have an issue while there thankfully. Standard hotels do not allow pets and this one or maybe now the whole brand allows them in every room which doesn't at all cater to actual people who have allergies. I think it is great to have places that include well behaved furry friends, but doing it in a way other flexible places do where the floors are separated/designated for other guests.
I was hoping to be pleasantly surprised after going years not using them, but with the lack of decent ac and other issues, we would not likely return.
COMING FROM THE CONCRETE JUNGLE I APPRECIATED THE PEACE & QUIET WITH THE CAPABILITY OF RELAXATION ... GREAT SPACE, SHOWER, KITCHENETTE... EXTRA CHAIR WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE FOR EAT IN MEALS
THERE IS A SPECIFIC BONUS MEAL ...IT SHOULD BE STIPULATED THAT NO GRAB & GO EXTRA SHOULD BE TAKEN TO THE ROOM UNTIL THE HOUR IS OVER ...INCONSIDERATE INDIVIDUALS WERE TAKING NUMEROUS PLATES OF PASTRIES, FOOD ETC... WHILE FOOD WAS PLACED ... THEREFORE LIMITING OTHERS...FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS
Mark at front desk had the best top tier service and made sure I was taken care of.
Thank you Mark!!
