Guides who do the walks through the Zoo are fantastic and full of information and very passionate about what they do at Taronga Zoo
We had 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it
Just spent three nights in an animal view room, the koala was not very cooperative in letting us view him from our room. Room was very nice and the staff very helpful restaurant ME-GAL was very nice also and the food was delicious, just dont go there to get a cheap meal!come and go as often as you want to enter the zoo, very well organized. Would go again.
It was a unique experience. We loved being able to enter the zoo in the morning before the crowds came (albeit was only 30 mins). The view of the city was spectacular. Loved seeing the Koalas up so close to our window.
It was my daughter's birthday. There were 6 of us and we had 2 rooms to accomodate us. My two daughter's and one's partner went up a few minutes before us. When we arrived, they had already been seated and i asked the host if we could please sit together as it was her birthday. She rudely told me they were busy and that wasn't possible. Despite 2 separate families next to us had 3 and 4 tables pushed together to accomodate their group. The breakfast was extremely average for a Michelin Key hotel- Qantas club does a better one! Coffee - 2/10 The pillows were horrible. No slippers and the floors felt sticky. The couch had stains all over it. Uber from Mascot airport was A$70.
I was disappointed that at no point was I informed that there were tours available to us as part of our stay. If i had known there was a night tour i would have booked our lunch in the city and theatre show as a matinee so we could have experienced this - instead we missed these. Better communication would have been appreciated. It was an expensive stay for one night - sadly it didn't hit the mark!
What a fantastic experience. Wow veiws from every area. Stayed for 2 nights, with a trip into the city. Easy access to all areas and very relaxed helpful staff.
Dinner was at their restaraunt, Me-gal, another great experiance, with breakfast there as well being the usual type.
Access to the city was via ferry. 10min walk through park to ferry or catch bus, and a bus from ferry on way back. You have a pass to get back in to reception when park is closed.
We did 3 guided tours that happen outside of open hours, Morning, afternoon and afterdark, definatley a must.
Final day, they hold your bags at check out and you pick up at end of day. Then you can spend the day exploring the park. There are approx 15 min shows on at various time worth seeing.
Waking up to bird sounds, and koalas outside my window. Also, simply walking around the hotel buildings is like going on a canopy walk in the forest.
Every staff member was helpful polite and interested at every point of our visit.
The service was exceptional, with staff taking our bags to our rooms and picking it up and helping us put it in our car when we left. A lovely lady walked me to the car with an umbrella in the rain.
Our animal view room was lovely and meant, when we woke up, we could watch a koala also waking up right from our beds. The walking tours were fantastic with lots of learning and spending time watching the animals in their habitats. A strong culture of conservation, and learning some parts we could play in that arena, infused our experience.
The food was delicious and comprised ethically sourced produce.
Thank you Taronga for an unforgettable experience.
