It is very clean and nice

A spectacular hotel and beach 20 minutes from the Puerto Plata cruise port. My wife and I were on a cruise and booked a day pass for this hotel during our port stay. Booked directly with the hotel, not through the cruise line. Amazing, amazing find. Beautiful grounds, buildings and beach. For a very reasonable price, we got the use of a hotel room, the restaurant, pool, spa, etc. Room and common spaces were spotlessly clean. Having the use of the actual hotel room for the day was so convenient - we could shower and change comfortably, instead of in a cabana on the beach. Stayed for lunch, and the restaurant (both food and service) were amazing. Staff could not have been nicer. We are actually considering coming back for a long weekend, we liked it so much. Highly recommend.

As beautiful as the rooms, food, and facilities are at Casa Colonial Beach & Spa, what truly makes this hotel extraordinary is the people. Every single member of the staff was gracious, warm, and genuinely attentive.

From the moment we were picked up by the hotel shuttle, the experience felt seamless. When we arrived, Odalis greeted us with such warmth that he set the tone for the entire stay before we even stepped inside. Franklyn then made the check-in process effortless and welcoming.

Our room was kept immaculate by Monica, whose housekeeping was efficient, thoughtful, and wonderfully unobtrusive. Even simple moments became memorable. Jordan and Joel made stopping by the lobby bar a pleasure each evening, and Rosalina created a heavenly poolside atmosphere with her delicious drinks and welcoming smile.

Everything else - from room service to the restaurant, the spa, golf arrangements, and the beach - was excellent. The entire experience felt polished and relaxing from beginning to end.

A special thank-you as well to Victoria (breakfast), Perla (spa), Felix (who kindly shuttled us by golf cart to nearby restaurants and shops), and Hilary and Ramon, who were all wonderful.

I’ve taken many vacations, but I’ve never left one remembering the names of so many people who made the stay special. At Casa Colonial, I did - because they truly are that remarkable.

The Hotel was amazing, the people unforgettable and wonderful. The room we had Dona Rosa was perfect. The location was also close to downtown. The value was good, we had one of the most expensive rooms it was a bit higher. It was clean throughout the hotel. No noise, of course, no entertainment either. Service impeccable. Amenities great! Victoria was so sweet and brought me a special honey to bring home.

Possibly my favorite hotel of all time. We were here for 8 days. The hotel and grounds are stunning and our room was beautiful. The staff were not just polite, but friendly. Without exception, every employee greeted us with a smile and an Hola! I truly loved this hotel and would definitely go back.

I went there twice for dinner, and on both occasions my experience was spoiled by a very unpleasant and intrusive Indian head waiter.

Don’t read anymore reviews and just book it.
This place is amazing the service the rooms the views and especially the food. Stayed with parents and kids there for a few days Christmas week 2025.

Amazing! Peaceful! One of the nicest hotels I've ever visited! The food, service, and accommodations were top-notch.

We stayed at Casa Colonial for a quick couple's getaway, celebrating our anniversary. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the front of house team. Our suite was spacious and had a lovely ocean view. I emailed ahead to inform the team of our special occasion and we were welcomed with a special amenity in the room, which was a nice surprise!

The resort is beautiful, luxurious, and provides a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. Dinner at Lucia was fantastic and the Dominican breakfast at the Veranda was phenomenal. Our spa experience was divine!

Above all, we were mostly impressed by the level of service that the team has delivered. Every interaction was personal and genuine all across the board. Casa Colonial will now be our second home every time we are in Puerto Plata and we will definitely recommend to our friends and family as well. We can't wait for our next visit!

Perfect place to relax and enjoy the beach.
Staff from main entrance, front desk, waitress and workers around the property are very friendly, respectful and welcoming.
