We were staying at Mantra Mackay because our boat is in the ship yard getting some TLC. Great location to walk back and forth to the ship yard. Close to the restaurants.
It was strange there is no toaster at all. Don’t understand the reasoning behind it. Would be nice to have decent size mugs for your morning coffee. There was only one huge lounge chair could have put in a two seater lounge at least in the space available.
Unfortunately we had a room on the 1st floor overlooking the carpark, however the staff did apologise and offer to move us to a higher floor the next day. The location is good if you want to stay right on the harbour, however it was annoying not having a car and having to catch Taxi's and Ubers all the time to get anywhere.
As there is no shops nearby it would be great if the hotel had a vending machine with snacks and drinks. The food and drinks in the restaurant/bar were quite pricey also.

Location overlooked the marina. It was away from the town centre so quieter.

When using the in room dryer, it made the bathroom very humid and steamy. Better ventilation would improve this.
All guests were asked to not have balcony doors open due to the humidity. We are fron the south and didn't really notice the humidity but it would have been nice to have the door open at times.
The foyer, and outside areas were lovely and well maintained.
The desk receptionist was also lovely and very helpful.
The food was great and very well priced!
The bathroom shower, was slightly moldy and needs to be cleaned.
Further some of the lights in the room did not turn on.
