Algehele stijl van het hotel is top! Goeie vibe!
De bezetting achter de bar. Veel te weinig personeel voor het aantal gasten.
The hotel itself is stylish and well located, however the service was consistently disappointing throughout our stay.
Staff were generally unwelcoming and often made even the simplest requests feel like an inconvenience. Responses were frequently delayed, requests were met with reluctance, and there was very little sense of hospitality or guest care.
The rooftop pool was particularly frustrating. While I understand the bed reservation and minimum spend policies, the enforcement felt excessive and inflexible. On several occasions the pool area was largely empty, yet staff still questioned guests simply wanting to sit briefly or have a swim. The issue wasn't the cost involved, but rather the lack of common sense and guest-focused service.
Given that the rooftop pool is one of the hotel's main attractions, the overall experience felt surprisingly underwhelming. A friendlier, more welcoming approach from the pool and front-of-house teams would significantly improve the guest experience and better reflect the quality of the property itself.
Gorgeous hotel , loved the rooftop pool after a long day of site seeing . Really nice interiors and great breakfast
Loved it
The pool area
The general design of the hotel inside and rooms.
It's for the young hip and cool kids.
I'm over 50 and I like to stay where I'm seen
Perfect hotel, with great rooms and amazing staff. It's the only hotel I will stay at in Barcelona!!! Not only is there a lot going on in the hotel, but Poblenou is one of my favourite barios in the whole of Barcelona.
We just got back from Barcelona, where we stayed at The Hoxton, Poblenou. The hotel itself is lovely. Great design, spotless room, and good food, especially the beef tacos up at Tope on the rooftop. The free bikes were a real plus for getting around Poblenou and the wider city.
A few things stopped it being a great stay.
The rooftop pool and beds were one of our main reasons for booking. What the booking didn’t make clear is the minimum spend on the beds: €80 for a double and €40 for a single, same for guests and visitors. The cost isn’t the only issue. It pushed us into eating and drinking at the hotel when we’d come to Barcelona to get out and try the local food. It felt like a money grab.
Service in the lobby bar was slow on every visit, mostly in the mornings when all we wanted was an iced coffee.
The low point was the bar one evening. Staff put a reserved sign on our table, and nobody else’s, and told us we had until 6pm. At 5:30 they moved us anyway. The bar was full, so we either left or stood. When I asked why the time had changed, the reply was “they are important.” As a paying guest, that did the opposite for me.
The bigger picture is that the place feels built around image and the influencer, social-media crowd rather than the people actually staying there.
The whole stay left us feeling like we weren’t really guests. Would I return? Probably not. Next time I’d choose a hotel with the facilities included.
Check in experience was horrible. I had three rooms booked and had flexy time option of 10am check in which was confirmed with the hotel prior to arriving. Totally incompetent front desk coordination especially from the manager. We got one room at 1130, one at 1215 and one at 215. They weren’t accommodating at all and very casual about it.
Nearby to the tram and metro. Nice rooftop pool and friendly staff.

Front of desk were so helpful with early check in, upgraded room and suggestions for restaurants and bars. Thank you Federico, you were great. Loved the rooftop bar and pool
Nothing really
Location
Cleanliness, housekeeping & hospitality
The room itself was fine, but our main issue was with the advertised $100 AMEX property credit and the overall lack of communication and organization surrounding it.
There was no minibar in the room. Instead, we were told by reception that the bar located behind the front desk essentially served as the replacement for the room minibar. Because of how the AMEX property credit was presented, we believed purchases made there would be included. Because of this, we went out of our way to spend the majority of our credit there, only to later find out none of it applied. This was extremely frustrating and felt misleading. We were also not the only guests affected. The party in front of us at checkout was upset about the exact same issue.
The process was also completely inconsistent depending on who you spoke with. When we initially used about $30 of our credit at the rooftop bar, we were told there was absolutely no way to charge it to our room because their computer system was down, so we had to use a credit card instead. Later, when I went downstairs to the front desk, they told me they absolutely could have charged it to the room despite the system outage, and that we simply needed to specify it was for the AMEX credit. That level of inconsistency was frustrating and made the entire experience feel disorganized.
On top of that, because their system was down, we were unable to get two working guest key cards. This meant we could not leave the air conditioning running while we were out, since the room required the key card to power the AC. We repeatedly came back to a hot room, which made the stay much less comfortable.
Clear communication and better staff coordination would have prevented most of these issues.
