Great location, super friendly staff, facilities were great. Definitely recommended.
Wonderful stay in a historic hotel.
The staff were particularly charming and went out of their way to be helpful. We were right in the centre of Stellenbosch so we were able to walk to various museums, cafes and restaurants. We had dinner on the first night in the restaurant and enjoyed the food. They have specials which are cost effective. Oh, and you are are treated to a free glass of wine once off in the restaurant. The breakfasts are excellent.
The rooms are compact, but there is a small balcony which if the door was open would make the room feel larger. We were there during the Cape storm so couldn't do this.

The outlay of property is very confusing
Smack in the middle of Stellenbosch, availability of basement parking, good quality breakfast.

A strong disinfectant soap smell in the room.
The hotel is fairly unassuming from the road so dont be put off, once you get into the courtyard you can appreciate its size and historical past. The rooms are fairly small but adequate for a few nights, ours had been recenty decorated so was very clean. The location is excellent and you can walk pretty much anywhere around the town.
Super bonus is that it has underground parking and a lift to the hotel, it really makes all the difference after a days sight seeing in the district.
The breakfast was excellent, I mean EXCELLENT so dont miss it, it will set you up for the day.
The staff were all really friendly, helpful and made us feel at home - well done to the Team, a hotel is nothing without great staff and you certainly are that.
Question is would I go back?
