I have eaten here many times over the years. My elderly parents drive from northeast Fife and I can get there easily from Edinburgh. I have just returned from holiday today to an astounding £100 parking fine for the two hours I spent there a couple of weeks ago. Am I supposed to guess I have to pay to park? When did this charging start and why did none of your staff even mention this at any point? It feels like a total scam. I don’t recall seeing a sign anywhere or any machines to pay at for that matter. This is one of the few places that my parents still enjoy eating due to the nice food and service as well as ease of parking and overall access for my disabled father. This has left an extremely sour taste in my mouth and unfortunately we will not be returning. I’ve had a wander round the more than ample parking areas in the past and they do not appear to ever be busy. This ridiculous attempt to gouge money out of loyal customers will, I hope, put many people off visiting.
Where to start, please avoid this restaurant at all costs.
My husband and I visited this restaurant in late April, we were blown away by the fabulous view of the Queensferry crossing, the sun was shining and we were looking forward to a late lunch in the restaurant.
It was extremely quiet with only one other table occupied.
I ordered beef stroganoff which happens to be a favourite of mine, my husband had fish and chips.
When it arrived I thought the dish was poorly presented and looked very unappetising.
Although it tasted different to any stroganoff I’ve eaten before, I attempted to eat about a quarter of the food, thank goodness I didn’t finish it as around 8pm that night I became very ill with food poisoning.
I felt I should let the restaurant know of my illness to hopefully help this happening to another client.
Although the food and beverage manager, Mr Crowe called me back that same night what followed was totally unacceptable, I was passed onto someone else then a catalogue of non returned calls.
I was passed to a 3rd party to fill in a nonsensical questionnaire.
Still no satisfaction, I then decided to contact Rajat Bhatia the Hotel General Manager.
He tried to say 2 other portions of the Stroganoff were eaten that day from the same bag ! These did not result in food poisoning so sorry and we will refund your money for my Stroganoff!
I’m sorry but that’s such a derisory offering, given I’ve been extremely ill with diarrhoea and sickness.
What is going on here, I get food poisoning, yet the hotel said everything is ok. I also noticed that another guest had similar problems in May and posted this on trip advisor.
Please, please whatever you do “Do Not Eat in This Establishment”
I have never experienced such a catalogue of errors in my life.
This is my first experience of food poisoning, please let it be my last.
Lovely room with great facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic location, with a great view of bridges. Excellent breakfast
Nothing
Excellent location 👌, easy to access, good location for sightseeing and attractions.
No problem with the hotel and amenities.
Good location for travel north
Restaurant has spectacular outlook but serving broad menu of frozen heated ip, micro waved or fried. Could be really good cooking restaurant but feels a bit budget. Not budget prices in restaurant.
Great location and amazing views
Couldn’t fault it
The room was a good size and bed was super comfortable. The restaurant was great with fantastic view of the forth road bridge and the food was fantastic.
The location
The room had a bad smell like dirty socks and there was underwear from the previous guest left on the table near the room phone
We spent two nights at the DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh, Queensferry Crossing. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. The staff were very welcoming, the facilities were good, and the cleanliness throughout the hotel was exceptional. The room and public areas were very well kept, which made a strong impression. In terms of value for money, I would say it was OK.
There were a couple of odd service issues that took the edge off the stay. The restaurant had an all-day menu, but when we tried to order a club sandwich from it, we were told it was not available in the restaurant. Strangely, we were then told we could order it if we went back to our room and ordered it through room service. That seemed incredibly bizarre and unnecessarily inconvenient.
This is the difficulty with hotels like this: they aim for a more luxury feel, but do not quite pull it off when it comes to the service details.
There was also a strange issue in the bedroom. Despite there being two guests staying, only one towel appeared to have been provided. Lo and behold, we eventually found the second towel on the last day, tucked away in the cupboard. That is not exactly where you would ordinarily think to look for a hotel towel.
Overall, it was a clean, comfortable stay with welcoming staff, but a few basic service issues stopped it from feeling as polished as it was clearly trying to be.
Clean and good rooms
Across the bridge which might be closed for work sometimes
Great size rooms, contemporary and clean. Outstanding views. Restaurant is exceptional. Staff friendly.
Parking is now chargeable since our last visit which we were not aware of (could be our own fault as we have been several times so didnt look to see) parking was charged to card in the AM again we feel it would have been better to be advised at check in.
We recently held my brother's wedding at the Doubletree by Hilton Queensferry, and I honestly couldn't recommend it highly enough.
From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. The staff were exceptional throughout the entire day – friendly, professional, attentive, and always willing to help. They made sure every detail was taken care of, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy the occasion without having to worry about a thing.
The venue itself was fantastic, We had an excellent view of the fourth during the ceremony, the food during the meal was outstanding and the whole event felt effortless thanks to the excellent organisation and support from the team. Weddings can be stressful, but the staff ensured everything ran smoothly and seamlessly from beginning to end.
A huge thank you to everyone involved for helping make such a special day truly memorable. I would not hesitate to recommend Hampton by Hilton Queensferry to anyone looking for a wedding venue or a place to stay.
Five stars all round!
Danke.
Breakfast, nice quality, very pleasant staff.
Evening meal, poor value and although we rate most of it because we were hungry, it ws really not very nice. Did not mention it to young lad serving us because he was so nervous anyway.
