A good hotel with great restaurant near Coinmbra
Pros:

General areas very nicely decorated with lovely green lawns & swimming pool
Rooms large & we had a beautiful view over the lawns
Restaurant was very good. We had the d,b & b rate & the restaurant staff were fantastic & the food very good. My husband used the small gym & there was an indoor pool

Cons:

This hotel could be so much better. Our room needed updating with a new carpet & the shower screen had bad black mould along the edges. Rooms have a small safe but no tea/coffee facilities although they did provide a courtesy bottle of red wine (with no corkscrew to open it!) there was no iron/board in room & none available when we asked at reception (very odd for a large hotel)
It has a glorious outlook outside but no outside sun loungers just white plastic chairs.
You need a swimming hat to use the indoor pool &, despite what reception told me, this was not stated in my booking confirmation.
It is such a shame as with a bit of money spent on the smaller things this hotel could be great.
Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay

Pros:

Pretty location, food was pretty good.

Cons:

Pumpkin soup was flat.
Brownie dessert the brownie should have been warm, it was short of being frozen.
Robes were not soft or fluffy
Bathroom door lock was broken
Baseboard to balcony was in desperate need to be painted.
Soap in shower was broken so you had to remove the bottle to get shampoo out.

Satisfactory hotel but overpriced for the region
Pros:

A convenient hotel for the Conimbriga Roman ruins and if you don't want the hassle of driving in or near Coimbra. Comfortable enough with spa facilities that they kept trying to impress on us (we are not spa people). The room was clean and comfortable but while complimentary red wine (which we don't drink), water and biscuits were provided, no kettle or tea and coffee facilities. Contrasting staff, one very friendly and helpful middle aged and a younger English speaker who was very curt and unhelpful. We found out for ourselves a pot of tea (or coffee) could be procured from the bar. We did not feel like a fancy meal so dined more casually in the interesting small town but the restaurant looked nice though empty this early in the season (mid March). Our room rate included breakfast which was satisfactory with the usual choices though the quality was not quite as good as some we have had while in Portugal. The coffee was poor. Parking is on the grounds inside though we suspect it may be harder to obtain a park if they are busy.

Cons:

The English speaker at reception could have been more helpful when I enquired if a kettle was available rather than snapping, no, and could have advised me we could, however, purchase tea or coffee from the bar downstairs - maybe I was expected to know this. It also wasn't clear if the items left on the desk in the room were complimentary or not so I also enquired. The pool appeared to not yet be open as it was very green and uninviting.

Pros:

As instalações e as condições bastante agradáveis

Cons:
