At the entrance to the Kaigasse (the beginning of the pedestrian zone), there is a barrier. Please press the corresponding button for the hotel on the column on the left side. You will receive a code via the intercom, which you have to enter into the barrier to be allowed to enter.

Historical hidden gem
Pros:

It's a great old place, literally in the old city center, 5 to 10 minutes walk to St Peter's cathedral, train to Salzburg castle, and Nonneberg monastery. And the place itself if the attraction ;) check the history of it once inside, you might get surprised! Nice places to dine and drink are also few minutes by foot away. I got really clear parking instructions before check in, but decided to come by train - it is so much more convenient. Hotel can issue you free public transport tickets for the days of your stay, and transportation is convenient - which was perfect!

Cons:

I am a spoiled hotel guest, used to 4* service of Mövenpick and alike. This hotel will be different to that level of overall comfort, and breakfast variety - however, it is lovely and comfy and has the most wonderful staff ever. This place gives history vibe, which would be completely lost in the classic hotel setting. And next time here I will also check out breakfast options offered in the city, as there seems to be quite a few!

Pros:

We intentionally picked this hotel for our stay in Salzburg. This hotel is in a building that is still standing from 1342! As we expected, our stay here was like a “glorified camping”. Nothing more nothing less. The room was very stuffy and a fan that we requested really helped.
Not sure how to comment about the lobby, but the staff was very accommodating and friendly.

Die Lage mitten in der Altstadt.
Zimmer sehr geräumig und Betten super. Im Haus selbst Nachts ruhig.
Das Kino im Haus wunderschön. Preis mit Frühstück 12Sept- 14Sept. Akzeptabel

Nach wie vor gut, aber preislich kaum noch vertretbar.
Pros:

Tolle Lage, freundliches und kompetentes Personal, gutes Frühstück.

Cons:

Preislich wie mittlerweile fast ganz Salzburg eigentlich jenseits von Gut und Böse. Bei über 200 Euro pro Nacht darf man ein bisschen mehr erwarten als ein Zimmer, das dann auch noch "kleines Budget" heißt, keine Klima-Anlage und kein richtiges Fenster hat, in dem man nur seitlich ins Bett kommt und der Boden gnarzt (kann man historisch-romantisch finden, muss man nicht).
