The staff were very pleasant. Downstairs the restaurant and bar area had a really nice atmosphere. We really enjoyed the food. The menu offered a good range of options and what we chose was lovely. I would definitely eat there again.

Cons:

The hotel itself is in poor condition. The outside paintwork has been totally neglected. We had a twin room and it was horribly outdated the furniture was terrible I’m sure it wouldn’t be too difficult or expensive to find something better.

A old established hotel in need of deep refurbishment supported by great staff.
Pros:

It was quiet.

Cons:

The bathroom of room 204 was dirty. The toilet seat was incorrectly fitted, cold tap handle broken off, shower panel rail broken and dirty and bath side panel coming away. The non-slip pad was also dirty and worn - handed to reception. Window dirty and window cill very dirty.

Our stay was disappointing as the pictures posted look grand but unfortunately it’s far from it. Let’s be honest
Pros:

There was nothing we liked about the property except the staff, they were all lovely. The hotel was old and unkept which was disappointing, the pictures that are posted do not reflect the true hotel!!

Cons:

Our toilet upon arrival hadn’t been cleaned. The receptionist had to clean it as the cleaning staff were not around. There was silicone all over the basin and toilet where they had caulked around the basin to cover the mould. Carpet was stained as was the chair in our room.

Comfortable….reasonably priced hotel
Pros:

Location was ideal for our start of the NC500

Cons:

The bathroom shelf is very odd and means you can’t brush your teeth easily.

No character and ageing windows…..needs some investment to modernise the public areas….
