The service is top notch

For a thousand dollar per night hotel room, this one was woefully inadequate. The lighting throughout and especially in the bathroom, was very poor. There was no bathroom counter or drawer space. One of the two ac units was not working (although, it really wasn't needed) and the TV was position such that it could not be seen from the bed.

It was a beautiful day with a very attentive staff, and a very unique viewpoint of Newport, Rhode Island. Would 100% stay here again or at another property in the future. Was an exceptional stay.

Truly one of the best experiences we’ve had. Everything we could have asked for from a beautiful and space room, great staff. Lovely staff at the front desk to great food at both breakfast and dinner. Closely located to most of central Newport. Highly recommend and when we return we will definitely return! Thanks again for making our stay such a great experience!

The Vanderbilt has such a friendly and helpful group of people working there. Every single person we interacted with went out of their way to make us feel so welcome! The Vanderbilt itself has so many charming and inviting spaces to spend time with friends. And we love how it is near enough to everything so we didn't need to use our car at all! Literally everyone you meet there is friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and helps you to have the best time!

I stayed at The Vanderbilt last week and was thoroughly impressed. The staff were exceptionally service-minded and attentive throughout my visit.The hotel beautifully blends historical charm with modern functionality, transporting guests back in time while providing all contemporary amenities. My room was both stunning and practical, with excellent attention to detail.

I had an amazing stay at the Vanderbilt. Everyone made me feel special. I was celebrating my birthday and received a surprise gift bag in my room on the day. Concierge paid attention to every detail. The bell services was very welcoming and helpful. Said was super.friendly and kind throughout my stay. Melissa was a gem along other team members who always had a smile. My suite was nice and large and had everything you would expect in a well-appointed hotel room. I hope to be back soon!

The total Vanderbilt Hotel experience was excellent. The amenities, location, and especially the service is exceptional.

There were a few standout employees, including the doorman, the hostess/manager for the Mother's Day brunch and the housekeeping staff.

That said Srdan (I believe this was his name, a younger gentleman who was most likely southeastern European.) was the overall shining star of the show. We truly can't say enough nice things about his kindness and warmth.

The Vanderbilt team made this a weekend we likely will reflect on for many years to come.

We had a terrific time (our wedding anniversary) at The Vanderbilt in Newport RI. The hotel is lovely, and its location is very convenient to restaurants and attractions. Most of all, the service was absolutely top-notch and we found throughout our experience that the staff would take the initiative and give genuine thought to ways to enhance the guest experience. That extra thoughtfulness and effort makes a real difference. The team wins six stars out of five for thoughtfulness, kindness and professionalism.

Location is centered in Newport so walking through the village and docks was easy. We only used the car for excursions. We had our dog with us and the Vanderbilt team were as welcoming to him as they were to us, he was given a bed and bowls. The room, an Alfred suite, was comfortable, clean and luxurious. Mini bar stocked with Nespresso, hot water maker and nice teas, mini fridge and bar sink. Bathroom amenities very nice. Linens lovely and it was very quiet. Because we had our dog with us we didn't eat in the dining room but did eat breakfasts in the library and dinners in front of the fireplace in the parlor. The food was very delicious. We could've eaten in the outdoor garden but the weather was a little too cool. We enjoyed the spa - I used the sauna and my husband had a massage. All of the staff were so welcoming and accommodating - after a day it felt like home.
I highly recommend Vanderbilt Newport.

Nice interior, overrated in terms of excellence, not fully up to modern stadards. Staff was very good, quality of the room less.

A lovely, gracious, attractive inn, with friendly and attentive staff, wonderful food and drink, and comfortable accommodations. We did provide some feedback suggesting the addition of better lighting and storage options in the guest rooms.

A very beautiful hotel — you really want to take in every detail. We had a spacious room, and in the evenings we could watch the sunset right from the living room — truly magical.
The staff were very kind and helpful with any request.
