Sadly disappointing
Pros:

The location , the friendliness of the staff.

Cons:

Really not sure what the hotel was promoting itself as. Was it a luxury 5 star hotel or an upmarket beach bar with rooms. Why the hotel thought that having a DJ playing loud hard dance music at dinner was acceptable I do not know. It could have saved itself the cost of the DJ and played some Jazz or soft West-coast rock. Surely this would have been more suitable and encourage more people to dine in house .

A 4-star resort operating at a 5-Star price point
Pros:

We just returned home from a 5 night stay. We had a very nice time but this is NOT a 5 star resort, this is a 4 star resort that charges 5 star rates (I think another reviewer wrote this as well). The property was beautiful with water views but it is not on the beach. The main pool area is a nice place to chill and stare at the view. My biggest issue was their espresso/coffee. I hated it and this is my favorite part of my morning so that was extremely disappointing. We will not be able to stay at any of the Aethos Properties since they use the same Portuguese beans in ALL of the properties. Thought it was odd that they did not use a local, Italian coffee. We were upgraded and the room was very small and the shower head was set too low. Turn down service was always inconsistent, The food was very good, especially the breakfast. And the concierge, Phillipo was great! As were Lorenzo and the bar team. It is a nice hotel if the price reflected 4-Star pricing.

Zero ambience (apart from one night )there was no music even though speakers by both pools or in the gym or dining . We expected so much more ambience from what your marketing sold ! dinner was average food !

Pros:

The sure sign of a top hotel is when the guests greet each other with a smile or joke on the facilities. As a result of the kind attention and quality of services delivered by the staff. It is a two way street.

Cons:

Events are an important source of income for the hotel. They should never barr the individual guest from the main pool area and dinner terrace. The VIP is the individual guest over the wedding participant.
