Breakfast was phenomenal. Lovely heritage hotel in the centre of town. Easy free parking at back of hotel.
Great location, and I believe it’s newly renovated. We had a great view of Basilica too.
Nothing
Charming; awesome location
The set up of the Great George is very original. Many different buildings are incorporated into the hotel. We had an old colonial design home, consisting of a few different apartments. Ours was completely modern with the marvel of heated bathroom tile floors.
I didn't like that I had to wait until 5pm to get my room refreshed. I'm already back from a day of adventuring and want to shower, but I have to wait until someone shows up because there are things that need refreshing in my room (coffee, tissues, etc.)
I also wasn't a fan of the way breakfast was served. No tables to sit at, just a living room style layout where you had to eat breafast on your lap.
The old hotel atmosphere is great and the front desk and breakfast staff were excellent. Very comfortable bed.
Our room was much too hot even though we turned down the heat and opened a window to single digit cold outside air. As the hotel is very close to late night bars, the open window created some late night noise from pedestrians leaving the bar. Breakfast was a little disappointing in bread selection, coffee too over-roasted and burned tasting. Although we came down with 2 hours left in breakfast service, the empty fruit salad bowl was never refilled.
Shower dripped
Everything is fabulous at the Inn. I have stayed here many times over the years. It is my home away from home.
The history of te place, the breakfast and the excellent location

Great staff, great location, convenient parking, excellent breakfast ( great coffee).
Nothing
The staff were exceptional in particular Kay
Location and ambiance. Staff
It was ok, nothing special
Having to walk up 3 flights of stairs with luggage to a mediocre room. Rude, unfriendly reception staff.
great location, free parking, very helpful staff. The bed was comfortable and a decent desk for working.
Dreary, shabby room. Dusty furniture, peeling paint, broken screen, poor lighting, one towel rack despite loads of wall space in the bathroom, no hooks for robes, a jutting and dangerous ceiling in the shower as it must have been retrofitted into a gables roof. Breakfast was adequate, but not much of a selection and everything was empty when we came down at 9. It was refilled, but it took a while. This is hardly a 5 star hotel. A 3 star at best and our room should not be in their inventory at all.
L’emplacement, chambre confortable
Le petit déjeuner pas à la hauteur du standing de l’hôtel
Location, internal spaces outside of room, breakfast
External voice outside of corner room, bathroom
Light connected to fan rather than two switches, needed coasters in room
I wondered if the price was too good to be true for such a highly rated hotel and it definitely was, as this property is no higher than a 3 star. The staff were certainly gracious and helpful, but the hotel has seen better days. Our room was dreary and in shabby condition. Not sure what the actual vintage of the furniture is, but it looked like it came from a used furniture store. There was a large dresser which also housed the tv that was about 5 feet high. The center portion of the top was dusted, but not the sides at the back, even though it was easy enough to reach. The paint was peeling all down the wall next to one of the windows and we had to kill a bee when we opened a window and didn’t initially see that the screen was improperly installed. Perhaps the worse was the bathroom. A good size but awful. Despite ample wall space, just one towel rack on the bathroom door and no hooks for robes or a place for hand towels. The only shelf for vanity cases was the toilet tank. The shower was under a gabled roof which slanted down right in front of the of the shower head. My husband and I are tall and both of us hit our heads on the sharp edge of the indented ceiling which came down in front of the shower head. Also, there was not a separate switch for the very loud fan which came on if you turned on the bathroom light, regardless if it was needed. If we hadn’t already lugged our suitcases up 1 1/2 flight of stairs and hadn’t been in a rush to get ready for an evening reservation we would have asked for another room. I will say that the bed was comfortable and my husband was happy with the desk, but the lighting was poor. Breakfast was adequate.
