Superb room

The location was great for our needs. The staff were exceptional and friendly. Breakfast was great
Building works around the building, unfortunate. Stayed on 3rd floor and the damp smell was not great.

Not sure is the chief had ever made scrambled eggs before, what I received was more like a hard omelet made in the mushroom pan.
Asked for 2 bacon rashers, only got 1,

Excellent location. Very friendly staff.
We were not informed about the construction work and nouse going on at the hotel and starting at 7.50am outside our bedroom window.
Can't give a good review as when we rocked up they had said they were shutting the whole hotel. Never said why and that all bookings were cancelled. And never contacted us.

The fact the hotel told booking.com I was a now show which reflects badly on my record when in fact I did show up, they failed to provide a room
Enjoyed the room and the bar downstairs. Easy access to the railway station and the High St.

The hotel cancelled my booking last minute over the Bank holiday weekend at 3pm in the afternoon just as we were about to check in as the roof had leaked. They did not help with any accommodation options and advice and then I received a 'no show' from booking.com, even though it was the hotel who cancelled! This affects my genius score.....very stressful over the August bank holiday, what with trying to find somewhere to stay for 3 nights!

The only good thing I could say was the breakfast was good
From walking into the hotel it smelt awful fusty it is dated and needs a revamp. Room was no better when you walked on the floor your shoes stuck the bed was comfortable door out to the so called balcony was broke so couldn’t lock it. Bathroom shower was quite grubby and the door was all cracked at the bottom.
The room itself were clean
The hotel needs to be upgraded, it had a horrible smell everywhere in all the common areas. It also had a very heavy smell of alcohol everywhere.
The carpets in the common areas was torn and didn't fit right outside the elevator so was taped down.
For £165.50 for a standard room that had 2 single beds joint together and advertised as a double room it was definitely not worth the money.
Will not stay there again.
