We booked a family room for a 1 night stay between theme park visits. We weren’t expecting much as we got a good price for a good central location but we were expecting the room to be clean at the very least.
The whole place felt derelict with a damp, musty smell throughout. The room was mouldy and dirty. If we weren’t 3 hours away from home we would have left. A/C didn’t work, hairs in the bath, ripped curtains with paint stains and cigarette burns, sticky surfaces, dirt on chairs. The room was on a slope, doors didn’t lock properly and felt unsafe.
After checking in, we drove straight into Reigate to get some thing to eat and stayed out as late as we could manage (with a young child) to spend as little time in the room as possible. Reception staff were apologetic when we complained but there was no offer of any sort of compensation or change of rooms.
Looking at the reviews on here, the hotel are NOT taking on any feedback and don’t seem to be taking action to improve.

Not fit for purpose
The beds were comfortable
First of all, there was misinformation by the staff which caused us delay of work and wastage of time. We were told we could check in around 11 which was not the case told later by last minute enquiry by another staff member. Secondly there was a strange smell everywhere in the hotel that caused discomfort and olcherry on top were the bugs inside the room.
Nothing it was not nice in the slightest
The place was filthy, covered in cobwebs, spiders, insects and moths, there was dust everywhere, the carpets were filthy, the walls were Grimey, very very outdated, no air con, the balcony door wouldn't close, rubbish everywhere, rust and grime makes in the bathtub, sealant pealing off, toilet had dirt and rust marks, like liturally everything needed to be scrubbed down and cleaned, I only put up with it as there was no where else I could go with my children

to operate and be called an hotel.The horrid smell hits as soon as you enter. The place is filthy and is a badly patched up ruin . The smell in out room was awful. The electric socket came away with part of the wall when unplugging a charger, very dangerous. The large window was so filthy. The wooden railing
around the balcony was rotten and dangerous.
In the upstairs corridor the floor boards were rotted and in places we were only supported by the carpet .

Nothing its the worse hotel you can stay in
Everything its not clean its very dirty. They don’t have house keeping at all. The whole hotel stink and its very dirty. There no air conditioning
NOTHING WENT WELL. Air conditioning out of order, television out of order. Hotel carpets were dirty. Receptionist agreed we could have full refund, she refused to provide a complaint form and said we would get a full refund through Booking.Com. She also refused to sign our booking sheet to evidence that air conditioning was out of order - she blatantly lied/misled us. We have no refund from Booking.com as hotel has refused to accept our complaint. There was also a bottle of cleaning fluid left in our apartment, which is a clear breach of health & safety.
Everything was bad - I did not like the receptionist's dishonesty about getting a full refund through Booking.Com. We did not even stay the night.
There was absolutely, categorically, nothing to like about this property.
This property was too unsafe for us to stay at. Among a shocking range of problems, the most concerning were loose wires hanging from light fittings in the corridors; the air conditioning control panel in our room hanging off of the wall; loose steps on staircases; and badly damaged furniture being stored in corridors.
When we challenged staff over the state of the room and the property and, in particular, the fact that our air conditioning did not work (on a 30+ degree day), they repeatedly lied to us. They claimed that the air conditioning across the entire hotel was not working; however, conversations with other guests revealed that this was entirely false.
We did not complete our stay and were told by staff we would have to email the company for a refund. We did so, and received no reply. The company initially replied to a trustpilot review I left, but have been silent and unreachable since. Months later, I am still out of pocket not only for the booking itself, but for the extra expense of having to book alternative accommodation at short notice.
Not only should you not book here, booking.com should not be listing this property on their website.
Nothing avoid at all cost
worst experience was so dirty could not take shoes of..the carpet stank of urine ,mold all in the bathroom no ac at all in hotel when States it does ..fag burns and rips in the curtains this place is disgusting we checked out as soon as wee see the room . And still waiting for our money back with hotel not answering booking .com emails ...this hotel makes a travel lodge look like a 5 star avoid at all cost .. we r 200 pound down even though we had insurance have tried ringing hotel myself and they are no help at our refund and booking.com keep saying we have to sort it what is the point of booking through a company that won't get money back worst experience with 2 companies would give 0 review if I could
