Beautiful place to stay, but very glad my son was along to carry my suitcase up and down stairs.
Pros:

Rooms - comfortable and nice; the beauty of the estate, wonderful trees and plantings.

Cons:

On-site restaurant too expensive. Finding one's way into one's room can be confusing, and potentially a lot of up and down various stairs while carrying luggage.

Pros:

The restaurant and the bar are great.

Cons:

The rooms aren't so nice. Pretty cold welcoming and cold place. I'd say you can find a bit better around for the price...

Beautiful and charming but challenging to get to our room.
Pros:

The campus was beautiful and peaceful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Cons:

The parking was too far from our room. There are NO ELEVATORS, so there's alot of stairs which is annoying with luggage. The restaurant was much too busy. We couldn't even get a small snack at the bar because there were no open chairs. The bathroom was too small and no place to put our toiletries.

Beau potentiel mais uniquement par beau temps
Pros:

Très beau cadre !

Cons:

Lieu et activités proposées pas du tout adapté pour le mauvais temps. Aucune visibilité de la part de l'hôtel sur les évènements type mariage, qui impactent grandement les services de l'hôtel.

Pros:

The front lawn was spectacular, and the front desk service was good. The size of the rooms was excellent, as well.

Cons:

There were bugs everywhere. There were moths in certain places on the property, ants and gnats in our room, and flies in other spots. It was really disconcerting and impactful in terms of our stay. Also, while some of the buildings on the property are grand and gorgeous, others are old and outdated. Some hallways were dank, humid, and smelly. The fitness center is oddly configured and needs fresh air; the bathrooms need updating, especially with ventilation and light fixtures; the property feels a bit haphazard. The location is great, though, and I would love to give the hotel another chance in the future.

Great spot for a work retreat
Pros:

I’ve attended work retreats at Tarrytown House Estate for the past three years, and it’s been a consistently great experience. The guest rooms are really comfortable; the food is excellent (including lots of options for special dietary needs); the surrounding grounds and trails are beautiful; and the meeting rooms are very nice. Special shout-out to Oralia, who organized our meeting space and kept everything clean, orderly, and well stocked. Looking forward to coming back next year!
