Dreadful experience
Pros:

We booked a twin but we’re given a double, noisy seagulls from the early hours, noisy fan noise going all night, hardly any sleep. Top tip… sleep on a park bench. You will probably get more sleep and not pay over £200!

Sadly not the best
Pros:

We were attending a concert and had a previous booking that fell through. This was our last resort really. What it cost for 1 night would've been the previous full weekend. Its a very Imposing building BUT......its such a tired looking building inside. Quite dirty in places ,including our room,on the window sill it looked like bird poo. Its a warren of rooms and lifts that got confusing at first.Sadly there was an instant with a room opposite but couldn't tell anyone until this morning as no phone in the room. We paid extra to have breakfast..which at £10 each we thought a bargain for eat all you want....had better but also had worse. The drinks area was very dirty with coffee/water machines drip trays overflowing nearly. It cost £330 for 3 of us- our son is SEND so need one room, which was roomy enough . I can't say we'd go back . It seems more geared towards coach trips and bulk bookings than individuals.

Worst night in Scarborough
Pros:

We stayed in room 605, the bath, windowsill and tiles behind the bath was mucky, we reported this to the reception staff. The staff member stated they would report it to housekeeping.
We did not inspect the room as we were keen on getting out to enjoy our day.
When we returned later that evening we noted the following
1 mattress was small for the bed
2 radiator was not clean
3 wall paper coming away from the wall and cracks on walls
4 room was small and difficult to manoeuvre through to the bathroom
5 shower not fit for use for tall guests, even my wife at 5 ft found it difficult due to the position (sloping roof) of the shower

We are extremely disappointed with the room, we paid a premium of £182.90 for a shabby room.
I have emailed Britannia Hotels and was very disappointed with their response. Never again

Perfectly acceptable to stay in for short stay which was what I needed for
Pros:

Location perfect short walk from the event I was visiting for the weekend. Room was small but fit everything needed, had been previously warned about strange smells but noticed none myself. Front desk check in easy and staff polite.

Cons:

Building did seem a bit run down on the inside which is a shame, a few random stains of unknown origin noticed throughout the hotel. Bathroom a bit small especially with using the shower as curtain kept clinging whilst trying to clean

It was the worst stay of my life. What made it worse is it wasn’t cheap either!
Pros:

Sadly nothing to be honest.

Cons:

We were only there for around 10 hours. Left very early as was so bad. Had one hour of sleep. I had no idea we would be down in a basement room which felt unsafe. My Mum is partially sighted (practically blind) and a better room wasn’t provided. We paid a ridiculous price for a room that wasn’t clean, no soap and items like the lamp were broken. I have never stayed somewhere and not felt safe.

Pros:

Room was very nice, there was only one lift to the floor we were on and it sounded like it was going to break diwn at any minute.

Cons:

The lift sounded like it was going to break down any second

The food wasnt very good at all

The chicken was too dry.

The apple crumble was too sweet.

The veg was mish mash and some wernt cooked.

The potatoes werent cooked

The trifle which was on next day tasted like apple crumble. The veg looked like it had been recycled .
