Pros:

Location

Cons:

Dirty room deep in basement which was hard to find as signs misleading. Took over an hour just to check in. WiFi not working. Mould in bathrooms and dirty fixtures. Parts of the building were in a terrible state. Feels like it needs serious investment or it will just be another of those former grand seaside hotels that closes down.

Location good but terrible otherwise.
Pros:

The location

Cons:

The room was far from the pictures advertised. There were stains on the ceiling and bathroom floor, no fan in the bathroom, bathroom window didn’t open, 3 out of 4 plugs didn’t work inc the tv one. Kettle had to be put on floor to boil as the lead was too short. Room VERY dated. The bed springs could be felt on one of the mattresses. Upon complaining I got an apology saying maintenance will check things out, but only a note of the room number was taken, not the issues I had raised so nothing will change there. Our room did not look anything like the pictures of a twin room on Booking, and all the manager could say was that all the sizes of the rooms on the internet are correct and they rotate pictures but did not comment when I said the room looks nothing like the pictures - just said ‘sorry about that’. Outdoor patio overlooking sea had potential but was uncared for and dirty. Dirty linen and plates were left outside rooms overnight. Even pool cues had no tips on them. Grand stair case looks nice but then you get up to the rooms and it’s a different matter. Immediate area outside hotel not nice at all with drinkers hanging around, very unwelcoming. AVOID!
