Gute Lage, very British
Pros:

Für uns war die Lage sehr gut, da wir vom Flughafen Gatwick kamen und die Blackfriars Station nur ein paar Schritte vom Hotel liegt. Außerdem wollten wir in die Tate Modern, The Shard und das Shakespeare Globe Theatre, alles liegt sehr nah. Fußläufig kann man bequem an der Themse entlang bis Tower Bridge und die moderne City oder London Eye und Westminster.
Das Hotel wirkt etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber mit sehr gutem Frühstück, freundlichem Personal und very British. Keiner dieser austauschbaren großen Kästen, die es überall gibt. Ich war zum zweiten Mal da. Nett: die durchgehende Dekoration entlang Alice im Wunderland. Außerdem ein netter Pub im Hotel.

Cons:

Nur eine Kleinigkeit: unser angekündigtes Frühstückspaket für morgens um 5h (früher Flug) war nicht weitergemeldet worden und existierte nicht.

Comfortable and cozy place for a six-night stay
Pros:

We stayed for six nights and loved this spot! Location was awesome, easy to get around the city from. The rooms were cozy and comfortable. The staff were great, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good and served in the attached pub, where we also got a small discount for other meals. Not to mention the whole place had a lot of character!

Cons:

No major complaints - mostly just that it's an old building and it shows occasionally. No A/C, no fan in the bathroom, one of the windows was hard to open/close. It's also on quite a busy street so not super quiet, but that's an expected trade-off for the excellent location.

Pros:

Front desk staff (Luke and Sammy) were awesome to talk to and get suggestions of what to check out in the area. Housekeeper was very efficient and provided me plenty of water. Pub staff were mostly friendly as well.

le réceptionniste était très sympathique, le petit déjeuner superbe et la chambre correspondait aux attentes. L'emplacement était parfait, il n'y avait pas de bruit dans notre chambre malgré le fait que l'on soit dans le centre et le pub lié à l'hôtel a un grand charme à l'anglaise ! Je recommande fortement

il manquait seulement des sachets de thé dans notre chambre mais le reste était parfait et je pense qu'il nous suffisait d'en demander pour en avoir

Pros:

I liked everything about this hotel and would stay there again. The staff were fantastic - very friendly and helpful. It was my 50th and they put up a sign in the room and some balloons which was a very thoughtful gesture.
It was perfect for myself and my daughter - we could walk to the nearest tube stop and felt very safe. The area was great - so close to the Tate, the Borough Market, the South Bank, etc.
Beds were very comfortable, the room was clean, breakfast was lovely - we were happy with everything.
