Booked a twin room for my older children and a double room with larger bed. The twin room ended up being the suite - which was a fabulous set of rooms. We enjoyed spending time in the living room here playing a board game as a family. The evening meal was excellent and the staff really helpful with sorting food out (to help avoid allergens for son). The location is gorgeous, a really beautiful part of Scotland.
The double room was lovely, but disappointingly the bed was super soft and there was a lot of noise from the hallway and next door rooms as I think there was a large coach party. If returning I would definitely go for the suite or ask for a quieter room somewhere else in the building. However I am a light sleeper - it didn't impact on my husband at all!
Nice country house feel to it, but not ‘stuffy’
Narrow toilet space
Friendly staff... comfortable rooms.
Breakfast was very disappointing.
Food was not hot
Just make sure food is really hot
We loved the hotel, it's set in beautiful nature, we loved the view of the fields from our windows, the room was clean, beautiful, it had everything we needed and it was just so lovely. We loved the little binder in the room that provided some interesting historical information about the hotel and surroundings. The staff were all kind, warm just lovely. The hotel decore is beautiful throughout and the food was wonderful. It was also easy to find things for me to eat as a person with celiac disease (allergic to gluten). We will definetively come back, thank you for taking such good care of us!
If I HAD to say just one small thing that could be improved, my 9 year old loved the bed, I found the mattress not super comfortable, but that is the only small thing, everything else was just great!
Good location, stayed there for a wedding nearby. Lovely building, nice rooms.
A little dated. Bed wasn’t the comfiest.
Ambiance sympathique
Parc pour le chien…
Le bar n,est pas très convivial
Was great, cheers.
Lush!
The hotel and rooms were lovely an the staff really nice and got us a fan as room was so hot
The mattress in one of the 2 rooms we booked was so hard and uncomfortable we didn’t get a great sleep an the other room Althou the bed was really comfy the bath plug didn’t keep the water in which was a shame as it was a lovely sized bath .
Beautiful surroundings. Very comfortable beds
It was a bit warm when we stayed but very very hot in the room and in the building, it felt like they had the heating on or not a good building for warm weather. We got woken up really early by a kitchen porter watching loud videos outside our room which was a bit odd. You don’t get breakfast included when you book through booking.com so probably more cost effective to book directly with the hotel.
Lovely building, very charming. Very well fitted large room.
No A/C and it was during the really hot spell. So windows open but the main train line is really close so quite noisy.
The location was lovely the hotel was lovely
The bed was so uncomfortable and a big lump in the middle of mattress food was not valve for money really expensive
