Hotel Ambasciatori

We had a lot of problems with this hotel. Let’s start with the fact, that they needed a credit card, that is not a problem except for the fact that it was not mentioned anywhere in booking that we would need to have one for our stay. The reason for needing to have a credit card, is because of a law in Italy which basically says that you cannot smoke in rooms or it will resort in a fine. When we were told at our arrival that we need one, we were met by a disrespectful behaviour of the receptionist, he kept repeating that we need a credit card, we calmly tried to explain that we do not have one on us and asked why it was not mentioned in booking, we were met by a series of “that is not our problem, and you need a credit card of we cannot check you in”. Their disrepect and disregard to this mishap didn’t end here, because the receptionist (who was unaware that we do understand a tad of italian) told their coworkers in a demeaning tone (in italian) “they’re saying they dont have a credit card” . After we repeated that we do not have a credit card on our person we asked if our credit card information would be enough and surprise, it was. Not only did the staff barely speak surface level english, the hotel itself had problems that did not meet the standard of which we expected. We booked a room with a balcony and a gorgeous open view, but when we entered our room it was the only room in their booking which do not show a window, which makes sense, because the window was a metre wide and blocked off with blinds which only go up and down and you cannot see a clear view, you also cannot open the said window because it is locked for presumably “safety” but that is weird since other rooms, judging by the photos in their booking had OPEN balconies, so why was it only our room window locked off + it wasn’t our room.The heaters in the bathroom were also unscrewed. Although it was a pretty view from those locked windows, the overall experience at the hotel was very disappointing.

L'ascensore per recarsi alla terrazza é lento e fa passare la voglia di aspettare che sia al piano.

Aside from the bar/restaurant, there is nowhere for customers to chill out except your room. When the bar shuts, that's it, and the bar doesn't open Mondays...

Piccole cose che segnalo solo come consigli per migliorare una struttura che merita

Camera trovata caldissima (avrei acceso prima l’aria condizionata come fanno molti hotel)

Colazione da migliorare buona la selezione prodotti ma in Sicilia non puoi non avere un vero pane e un vero succo d’arancia

Bokade detta hotell en natt för toof top barens skull. Visade sig att denna var stängd på måndagar?! Dåligt att inte tydlig info om det!

No iron, breakfast was below average, some staff were exceptional and some were unhelpful.

The shower pressure was a little poor

Enormt meget støj fra gaden om aftenen, hvilket gjorde det svært og sove. Værelset er småt for et 4-stjernet hotel. Vi fik kun 1 kort, så værelset var som et sauna, da vi kom tilbage fra byen, og tog meget længe om at blive kølet ned.

Lighting could have been better in the room

We didn't like our original room, but this was promptly changed with no discussion. Very much appreciated.

Nous entendons des bruits de chaises, de tables de l'étage supérieur ( restaurant rooftop ouvert à tous donc beaucoup de monde jusqu'à 23h), c'est dommage
