The location — you really can’t beat it! The hotel itself is fresh, clean and chic, with lovely decor. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and breakfast was absolutely lovely with a great selection. The pool looked over the beach, which was unreal!

Cons:

Nothing really! If anything, just be aware that pool towels are €2 per day to rent. The sunbeds around the pool are also quite close together, but this didn’t really take away from our stay.

Superb location, nice hotel right on the beach.
Pros:

Breakfasts were wonderful a good amount of choice dining room overlooking the beach and some outdoor seating.
The room was small but clean, comfortable and compact with everything I needed, the pool area seating is not sufficient for the amount of guests but with the beach across the walkway, it was not a problem. The location was superb.

Cons:

I liked the location, the swimming pool, the breakfast my balcony overlooking the pool and beach and the security of a safe deposit box in the room.

Kein gutes Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis
Pros:

Die Lage direkt am Strand ist wirklich super und auch die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich. Auch die Zimmer sind sauber und ordentlich. Betten sind bequem.

Cons:

Das Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis passt leider überhaupt nicht. Wir haben pro Person für 4 Nächte über 700€ bezahlt für Halbpension. Getränke zum Abendbrot musste man allerdings noch extra zahlen, die hätten bei dem Preis wirklich noch drin sein können. Das Essen war zwar grundsätzlich nicht schlecht, von Gewürzen hat man aber anscheinend noch nicht viel gehört. Für Kinder war die Auswahl zum Abendbrot auch eher dürftig.

Auch für die Liegen inkl. Schirm am Privatstrand musste man nochmals extra zahlen (25€ pro Tag mit großem Schirm, 17€ pro Tag mit kleinem Schirm).

Die Zimmer sind nicht gerade sehr geräumig. Zwischen Bett und Tisch kommt man kaum durch und auch für 2 große Koffer ist kaum Platz. Das Klopapier war m. E. nur halblagig, da sollte doch bei dem Preis bessere Qualität drin sein.

Anscheinend ist es in Portugal normal, dass jedes Zimmer eine eigene Klimaanlage hat. So hängt auf jedem Balkon eine „Wärmepumpe“, was es bei eingeschalteter Klimaanlage unmöglich macht, auf Grund der warmen Abluft und der Bauweise der Balkons, sich auf dem Balkon aufzuhalten. Zudem hängt das Gerät so tief, dass man sich schnell den Kopf stoßen kann, wenn man nicht aufpasst.

Der Pool an sich war zwar ganz schön, aber man liegt wie in einer Sardinendose. Liege steht an Liege und wenn man nicht ganz früh da ist, hat man auch kaum noch eine Chance eine Liege zu ergattern.

Excelente ubicación, comodidad y atención en Quarteira
Pros:

El Hotel Dom José tiene una ubicación inmejorable, frente a la playa y sobre el paseo peatonal de la costa de Quarteira. Además, se encuentra a pocos pasos de la marina, desde donde parten las excursiones hacia las playas, las cuevas y Benagil.

Es un hotel grande, pero al mismo tiempo conserva un ambiente acogedor. Las habitaciones son amplias y muy cómodas, y la atención de todo el personal fue excelente.

El desayuno merece una mención especial: es muy variado, completo y abundante, con opciones para todos los gustos.

También queremos destacar especialmente a Gabriel, del front desk, quien estuvo siempre dispuesto a brindarnos sugerencias y recomendaciones, ayudándonos a organizar nuestras actividades y haciéndonos sentir muy a gusto durante toda la estadía.

Cons:

Solo porque es necesario señalar algún aspecto por mejorar, diría que puede resultar muy difícil encontrar estacionamiento en la zona durante los momentos de mayor demanda, especialmente cuando se viaja con un vehículo grande.

Por otra parte, el bar del hotel cierra bastante temprano. Por las noches es difícil tomar un café o disfrutar de un trago dentro del establecimiento. Consideramos que un hotel de esta categoría debería contar con un servicio de bar más extendido.

En términos generales, fue una experiencia muy positiva y es un hotel que elegiríamos nuevamente por su excelente ubicación, la comodidad de sus instalaciones y la amabilidad del personal.

Pros:

We loved everything about Dom Jose Beach Hotel. The staff are so lovely especially the lady with the red lipstick at breakfast. Victor on reception was also very helpful. I stayed in a hotel close by last year and I said when I return I would stay in Dom Jose. I will return again and I cannot wait. It is so clean and breakfast is amazing.

Cons:

Twelve nights wasn't enough.
