This is definitely not a 4 star hotel and it all depends what you want/expect from a holiday.
Firstly, there are some good points. Food at breakfast, lunch and evening is lovely, no faults at all there. Very nice and fresh.
Evening entertainment from the staff is awesome, they are very talented people.
However, many issues. Hotel is very dated, air con is shockingly poor in the rooms. WiFi is really bad and we didnt even get any WiFi in our room all holiday (in 2026 that's unbelievable).
They invite a local group in once a week for a treat and that group caused a major issue in the dining room one evening, by being very aggressive about the table they wanted to sit on..raised to the manager and reception about this and nothing at all done!! Shocking.
There are so so many things you have to pay for in this hotel.. there are 5 out of 25 ice creams that you get free..the rest you have to pay for. Lots of drinks are chargeable. Tennis and padel are charged by the hour and other things you always get in all inclusives don't seem to be included...so be careful ..you spend A LOT more here
You have to wait until check out today itself, to see if you can pay to extend your room for a few hours or not (which is today for us) ...which i find appalling as surely allocations can be done earlier once they establish who wants to stay. So found out 30 mins ago we have no room past 12...never experienced that in many many years staying in all inclusive...going to be a long day ahead and sums up the hotel.
The pictures and videos we watched before we arrived, did not do the Hotel justice! Great location, the views stunning, the beach perfect for young children, the food had so much variety, the shows were so good kept our three year old entertained, we had a suite with two balconies that really worked for us and the room was clean and modern, and all the staff were brilliant, definitely be back another day! Great value for money!
I always read up on reviews prior to booking a hotel, however some experiences I and my family had at this hotel have not been mentioned on here and I feel the most detailed reviews are always the most truthful and helpful, so buckle in as this is a long one!
I will start from the beginning.
We had a friendly welcome to the hotel after a LONG transfer time from the airport. I will make you aware now that package deal transfer takes approximately 2 hours from the airport to the hotel. Uber is approximately 80euros per way. We went as a family of 5 adults no children. We were upgraded into 2 of the same type of room so we could be next to each other in the same hotel block. When I tell you this hotel is is MASSIVE, it truly is huge. There are many blocks across the 2 hotels.Depending on what type of room you book will depend on which hotel they put you in. This resort is VERY hilly. I would not say this is a very accessible resort in terms of commute between different areas. Some of the room blocks are quite a walk away from the restaurant and snack facilities.
After entering our rooms, which were a decent size and clean to a good standard, we went straight to the adults only pool. The rooms were initially stoked with bottled water and cans of coke, Fanta etc. Robes and towels were provided and cleaned everyday. Beds always made. Safe in the wardrobe and easy to use. We did have a problem with our shower getting blocked nearly everyday of the trip. Maintenance did attended quickly each time we rang for help and sorted the problem (until the next day). We did also have a problem with our room keys stopping working on 3 of the days of our trip but again were sorted quickly. Some of the balconies were massive and some were smaller. It is worth noting that washing lines etc are not provided and some balconies can be very shaded so drying clothes can be hard. TV had 2 British channels, the rest were Spanish and German. Bed was a little hard for me but that depends on what you like. A thinner duvet was also provided free of charge. Plenty of plug sockets around the room and by the beds. I would also like to mention the lack of dressing tablet makes space for toiletries difficult. We put all ours in the bathroom instead so was not a big problem for us however for those that like the extra space, there is a lack of storage space. Kettle in room, we took tea bags and sugar etc from the restaurant as this was not re-stocked.
The pool was gorgeous. We aren’t really a children orientated family and like the quieter areas without having to pay for adults only hotels. This pool was a perfect temperature everyday. The pool chemical levels were checked every day also. Sun beds were always available everyday, both beds and loungers. The adults only pool has a shallow areas to step into for those who cannot use steeper steps. This pool is located next to an adults only bar however this area you must pay for and I did not see it open at all through the 7 night duration of our stay. There is also a partially indoor pool (no roof but walls) that was FREEZING and wasn’t the cleanest. There was also a hot tub at the side of this pool. Now for all inclusive and having been to all inclusive my whole life I would usually expect the hot tub to be included in the price, but it isn’t. The hot tub takes 2x 1 euro coins to work and the machine is located on the wall as you enter - you get 15 minutes of bubbles. We did not go near the main pool as it was very noisy with children and lots of inflatables, so I can’t really comment on this one - it was colder though. There is an infinity pool and large pool at the sister hotel a 15 minute walk away which were more peaceful. There is another pool down by the sea where the snack bar and main restaurant are - entertainment also takes place here. And there is a smaller children’s water park on the resort with a waterfall bucke and tiny slides - this pool was also FREEZING.
There re bars by the main pool, splash park, seafront and in the sister hotel. Some bar staff were really friendly and some were quite miserable. Free ice lollies and ice cream could be sought at all bars. Bar staff are very funny about giving out trays to carry drinks so you will need 2 pairs of hands if you are going as a bigger group. NOW COCKTAILS - nearly every cocktail no matter the time, you must pay for. They are 9 euros. I did think this was a bit ridiculous considering we had paid all inclusive. I think maybe 3-4 cocktails were included and they were absolute disgusting.
Food was phenomenal! Best selection of food I’ve had at an all inclusive resort. Each night was a different theme Chinese, seafood, Mexican etc. The desserts were to die for (especially the lemon cake). Staff were also very helpful, catering for my coeliac Nana and making her massive platefuls of pasta. I would say the children’s only area for food is lacking however there was always pizza, chips, pasta, chicken nuggets/fish nuggets etc in the adults section as well. Restaurant was very spacious and clean and there is also an outdoor area you can eat if you don’t mind waiting a little for a table - it overlooks the gorgeous ocean.
Trips can be booked through your rep - they aren’t best and are very expensive. There is a little train that takes you to a neighbouring town and busses you- really cheap. I will say this area is very secluded and there are only 2 shops outside the hotel. The entertainment team are really good and work very hard but don’t try force you into activities which I really liked. Different entertainment programme per night for adults and children and the biggest bonus was that our room was far away so we could not hear any of it.
Extras - free pedlos at the private beach.Kayaks also available. Lifeguard doesn’t speak English at all and we never really saw him. Wi-Fi is good, FaceTime can sometimes play up but overall not bad.
I think this hotel was overall okay. I personally wouldn’t go back just due to how secluded the hotel is and how far you have to walk to get to everything up hill in intense heat. BUT it was a good trip and I would recommend to those that don’t mind long walks and a large complex.
I’m actually writing this from my balcony because I’m that impressed with the place.
I’m sitting here looking out at the sea from room 1113 and the view is absolutely blessed.
Proper postcard stuff the extra £20 or so at initial booking through Jet2 for the seaview was money well spent
The food has been phenomenal. Every meal has been spot on with loads of choice, everything fresh and genuinely better than most hotel buffets I’ve ever had. The rooms are clean, modern and comfy with nothing to complain about.
The entertainment across both hotels, Cala Blanca and Cala Verde, has been brilliant. Plenty happening and a great atmosphere all day.
I can see why this resort is a hit for families, but it’s perfect for couples too.
My wife loves lying at the pool soaking up the sun, while I can’t stand the heat, so I spend my time floating between things ran by hotel such as the archery, shooting, patacha or heading down to the sea for a proper swim against the waves.
Beach at your door step literally!
There’s always something to do, no matter your pace.
You’ve also got a few handy shops right at the entrance of the hotel. Ideal if you want to stock your fridge with a couple of drinks for balcony chill‑out time. Makes life easy and saves you running about.
At the adult pool you’ve got a mix of loungers, and here’s something nobody tells you. If you’re on the AI package, don’t hesitate to use the big cube loungers. They’re completely free to use. No extra charge, no booking, no nonsense. Just grab one and enjoy it gives you the premium feel of a relaxing break without the premium price tag
If you’re heading to Ibiza Old Town, grab your chance to visit. The hotel runs a bus to it properly air-conditioned and safe but it only runs on a Friday, so when you arrive just secure your spot.
The bus is 15 euros return, safe, comfortable and far more palatable than taxi prices.
An Absolute bargain and a great experience proper romantic and a different vibe from the hotel
Back to hotel everything here just works. It's a great location, with a great overall setup, the staff are awesome and the entertainment on offer at night is beyond standard. I couldn’t fault a thing. If you’re thinking about booking it, do it. You’ll love it.
Just had a short break at this hotel , I really cannot understand some of the bad reviews , from the very warm welcome until we checked out we could not fault this hotel , we stayed in a premium superior room which was very clean and spacious , nice touches like several soft drinks and water in the fridge on arrival . We ate in both the main restaurant and the tex men cantina and the food was good and plentiful in both , some food could have been a little warmer but no other issues . We liked the adult only area which was a nice oasis and a bar nearby . Evening entertainment was better than a lot of hotels we have stayed in , the lion king show was especially good . Very nice clean beach with shallow water . We found all staff polite and friendly , especially reception staff . We are planning to return next year with our family . Thanks for a great time !
Ignore the bad reviews, go and enjoy yourself. Food was okay, could always find something to eat. Lots of salad options, pastas, chips, pizza and a few different grilled meats usually fish or pork. Room was very basic and as said in other reviews a bit dated. Loved the peace and quiet of the adults only pool but what a waste of the adults only bar. Only opened for a few hours while we were there, cocktails which we paid for where a let down. It is a beautiful space, do something else with it. Staff absolutely amazing, friendly especially Bilal at the top pool bar. Never bothered with entertainment but looked like there was a good variety. It is very remote but we found the nearby beach bar under the trees good for a coffee and the feel ibiza restaurant 5 minutes along the road fantastic for food.
Nobody cleaning the pool areas throughout the day and quite often lots of litter/ empty cups ice cream wrappers/food scraps around the floor - not pleasant bare foot.
ALOT of green grime around the pool rim and the ladders on the terrace. No chlorine smell in ANY of the pools and the water had a salty taste to it which is obviously all of peoples body sweat in the water
Sunbeds not cleaned in the morning before pool opens - often met with pigeon and seagull bird poo on some of the sun loungers at the terrace pool.
Splats of bird poo on the floor and dining chairs in the terrace tex Mex restaurant and seagulls flocked constantly. We seen a few people leave their table for a moment to grab a drink and the seagulls would fly in and steal the food of their plates. Staff doing absolutely nothing about it. Also spotted a small bird eating sweetcorn directly out of the salad bar - no attempt to bird proof the area or have any deterrent and totally unhygienic and a huge health hazard.
Rooms are less than basic. Bedding only chaged once the entire week - even though we didnt put the card out to say not to change it. Crumbs were left on the floor in the room for 4 days so hadn't been brushed up on daily room cleans. All they did was make the bed (poorly) and lash new towels on top of my belongings (make up bag & straighteners) in the bathroom, bin emptied and and twice no bag put in back in there. Lift often dirty. Pool toilets always soaking wet floors and nobody cleaning them during the day.
No extractor fan in the bathroom so whole room steams up very quickly. The water in the shower is dangerous as it kept going scalding hot randomly and could easily burn a child.
No iron in the room. Only 8 hangers in wardrobe for a room that sleeps 4 people.
Apparently this room which was the iconic was refurbished for 2026 - it is battered and looks old and tired - absolutely doesnt look new at all. Stains in the bottom of the toilet, mould and discoloured Grout in the shower, chipped walls and furnishings. Looks like its had a lick of paint by the staff onsite and not professional at all. If this is a 2026 refurb I dread to think what it was like before as its only the start of June 2026.
No clothes line or maiden of any sort in the room to dry swimwear or towels on.
These are basic things you would have in a beach/hot climate hotel - i even had these in a hotel in October in disneyland paris. Cant see anything on the balcony unless stood up as its completely brick walled so rather pointless having a balcony imo as there is no view when sitting.
This is also not an all included all inclusive hotel - alot of the things we asked for like certain cocktails, ice cream and slushes you had to pay extra for on the spot. This wasnt explained at all prior to booking and had i known this i may not of booked it. I asked reception for water late at night and they told me to buy some of the machine in reception- Im all inclusive but you are telling me to pay for WATER from the machines in the reception. Make it make sense.
What i found quite strange was there is no security at all at this hotel and all of the gates to the property big enough for vehicles are kept open 24/7. They are electric gates but they choose not to close them which i did find abit of a p*sstake as nobody even checks your band or room number for any of the entertainment, restaurants or bars. Alot of people could of just walked straight through the gates and into the entertainment area for the night shows.
There is a new wave rider but it is €50 an hour per person which is extortionate imo. Every time we went past nobody was using it. It wasnt until after I've returned home and read on the hotels website that guests staying in the iconic rooms receive 50% off the wave rider attraction per person. Had I known this I might of booked it for €25. Nobody told us this and its wasnt made aware via email when I upgraded the room prior to arrival. I believe this was intentional so guests are forced into paying the full €50.
Another thing we noticed that we were not told about is on one of the evening shows for the lion king there were a row of seats at the front with red tape on and we were told they were for VIP - turns out you have to pre book - nobody told us about this. Also in the main restaurant in cala blanca you couldn't sit outside with the sea view for dinner if you hadn't booked - nobody told us about this and its not very fair on an all inclusive resort anyway. We were also not told there was a QR code for all of the hotels entertainment schedule which we didnt find out until day 4. You then get a WhatsApp each morning with ALL of the activities on the whole complex for kids and adults.
The food was average if you dont mind eating the same stuff everyday. There is a slight variation and themed nights. Lots of salad options. Desserts were the same cream cakes just different colours. Ice cream was always half melted before you even got it into your bowl for dessert. So you basically had ice cream soup.
The entertainers were really good and we did really enjoy the entertainment team - always full of life!
Room hadn't been properly cleaned upon check in, dust under the bed and on the shelves. Wrapper of some sort under the bed and black head hairs in the shower/bath.
The cleanest part of the hotel was the reception area everywhere else was not cleaned properly at all.
Mini bar advertised on the iconic room description, however we arrived to two small bottles of water, 2 cans of fizzy pop and two mini chocolates (as if they had come out of a celebrations box) however there was 4 of us staying in the room. It was never refilled again during the stay. Not a mini bar at all.
On day 3 a child pooed in the terrace pool in cala blanca. The entertainment staff seen it and announced it but 20 minutes later still no other members of staff come and closed the pool for cleaning - h&s is non existent. Just so im clear, the pool was NOT closed by any staff. It remained open.
The jacuzzi in the indoor pool area was visibly yellow in colour and absolutely stunk of sewage/poo.
The pirates area is VERY dated and actually dangerous. Both of my children were injured using it just by simply going on the slides and both had friction burns and scratches from various parts of using it. All of the pool floor was flaking off and alot of the screws on the stairs were visible as the plastic casing had broken off them. Won't be long before someone cuts their toe on them.
There is a part on the viewpoint area at the bench in cala verde and the glass wall panels that seperate you from the cliff edge to the sea are actually wobbly and didnt feel solid and sturdy to lean on.
No inflatables allowed in the pools, everyone had Inflatables in them. Nobody enforcing any rules as also 2 children In the adult only buda pool and again no staff enforcing the rules.
The cocktails on the all inclusive are all premade in jugs and are just syrup basically - i dont even think there is alcohol in them.
I dont drink alcohol, maybe once a year maximum so I am an ultra lightweight and sensitive to alcohol and I drank 5 mojitos one evening and wasnt even the slightest bit tipsy, so they either aren't putting alcohol in the drinks or the alcohol is watered down massively
The main restaurant is miserable and is more like a canteen with paper napkins for dinner.
Don't rate the hotel at all. Would not return or recommend. I'd be fuming if id of paid the prices they are charging for the summer holidays 🙄
14 of us went on a family holiday and had a lovely time. We were getting to the pool between 9-10 and we could get beds every day, they were not reserved. Beach was lovely, it was very clean. Bar staff were all brilliant
Writing this whilst still here. Arrived Saturday about 22:00.
Staying at Cala Blanca
Staff: All brilliant
Pools: Of course this is not an adults only hotel and the 2 main pools are fine just lots of music n fun being had with families n their kids. Adults only pool is really excellent mainly because it’s so quiet with no music. Only downside is the Buda Bar is not all inclusive and only opens Wednesday n Saturday 2100-0000
Restaurant: Food is absolutely fine. Fresh salmon fillets cooked to order. Fresh meat and steak is cooked to medium/medium rare. Wine not the best but you know what it’s ok for all in. Estrella on tap
Beach: Lovely beach not too crowded. Sea is lovely n cooling
Rooms: We booked double premium superior with sea view. It’s a large room with 2 balcony’s n sun beds. Quite a way from sea but still a nice view. Cleaning every day fresh towels etc thanks to the cleaners here too🙏
Bars/shops: Really cool bar n restaurant in the beach basically under a canopy of pine trees.
Decent shop selling usual stuff like magnets etc overall really good with a spar up the road too.
Don’t look too much into some poor reviews. In our opinion it’s absolutely fine and well done to all staff here😎
Bellissima posizione, piscine stupende, staff gentile e disponibile, animazione top
Un po di confusione al buffet
Cala blanca everything to like.
Balcony sea/view was 5 star.
Access to an amazing beach and sea was so accessible and worth it.
Eat mainly in tex/max for breakfast and lunch pasta was good.
Evening buffet could have been more variable having no beef.
Dissapointed in variation of Soups .
Bar service was good. Entertainment team full of energy and worth a late night show.
The most satisfying aspect is the cleanliness of the hotel and service.
Great welcoming pack for my birthday.
We will be back.....
Already looking to book for 2027
We stayed here for 6 days.
Paid exyra for double superior room with sea view.
On entering the room it was very tiny with hardly any sea view. Our complimentary was 1 packet of crisps nothing else and we were all inclusive!
The area is quiet no shops only 2 basic .
Food was ok . Entertainment was jyst for kids. Felt a bit like Butlins kids everywhere.
This hotel is more 3 star and not 4.
