Enjoyable stay
Pros:

I like the location being close to the high street.
Comfortable room and lovely outside garden for drinks. Would definitely stay again . Shame the price had doubled when I went to book again for the following 2 weeks

Cons:

Limited choice for evening meals.
I found myself going into the high street to find something different.

Pros:

The hotel was in good condition, clean and comfortable.

Cons:

There was mould on the ceiling of the bathroom in room 67. The sealant also needs renewing.
The breakfast was very average and avocado did inedible.

Well-Run Traditional Hotel with good food.
Pros:

The simple Full English Breakfast buffet was excellent quality. All staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The room was a bit hot due to the extreme weather, and there is only air conditioning in the restaurant (which is why I have marked it down slightly for Facilities and Comfort). But a powerful fan supplied with the room helped a lot. I will happily return to this hotel at any other time of year.

Cons:

A was a bit hot without air conditioning. Charging for overnight car parking when the hotel was only half full seemed a little mean (not the staffs' fault).

Absolutely shocking. Star rating needs reassessing!
Pros:

Nothing other than the grounds were quite nice.

Cons:

Rooms. Food. Cleanliness. False advertising.
Damage to the walls in the room that had just been poorly filled, floorboards sweaked, and I mean nearly all of them, no toilet brush, extractor fan didn't work, shower which was over the bath was poor with only luke warm water, bath sealant all mouldy, shower mat was some worn thing your nan would've had in the 70's! Furniture was all out dated, food was edible with a good chew, coffee served to the table was almost cold and to top everything off, you have to pay £5 to park your car in the grounds!

Nice hotel, but this didn’t make up for disinterested front of house staff
Pros:

Pretty building, clean room, pleasantly furnished, well-equipped bathroom

Best efforts had been made, by the chamber staff, to make the rooms as cool as possible during the heat wave (windows closed, curtains drawn etc)

Cons:

Disinterested reception staff;
1) on the hottest day of the year, after driving seven and a half hours in an open top car (from Liverpool), the receptionist was more interested in ensuring I paid £5 for parking than whether I needed a glass of water.

2) on my enquiring whether there was either air conditioning, or a fan, in my room, she was dismissive and said there SHOULD be a fan but I’d there wasn’t, there were no spares (I completely understand that she’s said this many time already that day, but it was the only time that I’d asked it, and I was polite, rather than demanding)

3) my shower did not run cool; again, first response was that the maintenance staff were off-shift. When pushed, she went to speak to the duty manager, and I could overhear the conversation moving in such a way that I felt that I needed to make it clear that I could hear them! That said, the fix was simple, and resolved whilst I was out that evening.

4) a request for additional tea was not acted upon

5) when I returned in the evening, during the conversation about the shower issue, I also asked for a glass of iced water, which she agreed, but then went on to speak to another guest. I waited for a few minutes until another member of the team came to my assistance and asked of they could help, and provided the iced water from the bar area

6) after then going upstairs to the garden wing, my key card no longer worked and I had to go back to reception, to be greeted by the same receptionist with ‘what now?!’ I had to bite my tongue!! It transpired that I should have been given another card after the shower incident. To be fair, she apologised, once she realised the mistake, but for the key, not her response to my reappearance.

Functional stay, tv didn’t work but breakfast good
Pros:

Half board possible, easy book in and comfy room. Good breakfast

Cons:

Tv didn’t work, spoke to reception told the maintenance man was covering the night porter so couldn’t do anything. No alternative. Food ordered but delayed. Cesar salad had poached egg rather than boiled. Stayed since October but not returning although working in area to year end. Car parking charge and car park gets very busy

I will be a returning guest at the Lismoyne hotel.
Pros:

I stayed in room 21, second floor up in the hotel.
The room was very hot, due to the weather. I used the fan provided to get some air into the room.
I didn't stay for breakfast, so unable to comment on the cuisine.
The hotel was very busy, and the staff pleasant and efficient at their job.
I like the fact that there is plenty of parking available, with an additional £5 on top f your booking fee though.
This is the second time I have stayed at the Lismoyne. Its locality is great.

Cons:

I have no comments to make really. All was good.

Wouldn’t stay again but was fine for what we needed it for if you have no expectations you’ll be fine.
Pros:

Convenient location period building with big garden.

Cons:

The hotel itself was very tired and definitely needs maintenance small things that make a big difference like the garden furniture was all falling apart. The room itself was ok and the bed was comfy. My children’s sofa bed on the other hand was terrible with stains etc and was not pleasant. We had a family room and had to request x4 towels instead of 2 and didn’t have enough loo roll for a long weekend family of 4. The drinks were reasonably priced and food was ok. The brekkie wasn’t great with dirty glasses and the buffet wasn’t kept topped up and the tables weren’t re layed and the staff looked like they didn’t want to be there unfortunately. It was fine for what we needed it for but if this was a location I had crossed to stay in in probably wouldn’t have been happy. Such a shame as in beautiful grounds and could be spectacular just very tierd and work out.

Just sleep in the car park more comfy than the rooms
Pros:

The garden

Cons:

It was over 34 degrees inside my room they couldnt even offer me a fan! Should have emailed all visitors suggesting they bring a fan. Could not sleep waste of money. Slept in the car for a few hours instead
