The Cavendish Hotel is in a marvelous location across from the beach. The entryway, reception and lounge are beautiful in a classic way. However, our hotel room was horrible. The fourth floor hallway smelled strongly of pesticide. In the room the bedside lamps refused to work and, upon touching them, gave us an electric shock,. Paint was peeling from the wall, The ironing board had a 30 degree tilt. There was no air conditioning and we had to beg for a fan, the vents of which were filled with old dirt. There was no telephone to contact reception. Nobody cleaned the room, made the bed or provided clean towels. Upon asking why, we were told they didn't clean the rooms when it was "only a three day stay". We chose the Cavendish because of its classic beachfront hotel appearance but would never recommend it to anybody.
I love front of desk team. They are always, without exception, help kind and supportive.
It’s a little tired in areas. But always exceptionally clean.
Location was excellent and it was clean!
Would have been nice to have an option of daily housekeeping or even just fresh cups in the room each day for my morning tea.
Staff weren’t happy on the desk, very limited interaction.

Room very hot.telly did notvwork properly first room window did not open due to poor maintenance. Hotel needed some TLC
Right opposite the beach , near to shops and restaurants and bars. Car park at rear we got for free as we were there for a wedding
Had to change rooms as SOOOOO hot - was on 4th floor and window opened only 2 inches - spent all night awake. They swapped up for a room on 1st floor with a balcony so we could open the doors. Bar wasnt open much . NOT really dog friendly - they are only allowed in the room not even in the bar area !
Great location
Very dated, walls dirty, couple of holes in the wall, musty smell, carpets and chairs really dirty/marked! Thick dust on the bedside tables, dressing table very sticky! Walls in bathroom dirty in some places and floor was near toilet dirty/dusty!

Tired decor but its an excellent price so i didnt expect anything more. No air con.
Breakfast is really good and room size is spacious, they had luggage storage service, good location, situated right Infront of sea
They had not much amenities like dental kit, shaving kits, like normally even the budget hotels do. The telephone in room was not working. They didn't have ac but was manageable as they gave two fans to us. The water boiler kettle in the room was dirty, it wasn't cleaned properly, it was not good to use. The hotel was listed a four star hotel in Google but they said it's a budget hotel (strange)
Good location and parking
Didn’t lose too much money on this thankfully.
Online check in staff for the later check ins, were rude and didn’t cooperate with me. One hung up the phone on me.
Place was filthy, not properly cleaned. Ended up not using the hotel and leaving early.
Bathroom was dusty, and walls were mouldy, bedsheets had 2 small stains on & towels stained. When requesting a refund wasn’t given one for this property, as my booking was non refundable sadly.
Absolutely unacceptable. 2/10 stay is a generous rating. Won’t be going back.
We like the hotel and use it regularly. Location is great and staff are generally efficient and pleasant. Shower was great and overall cleanliness was very good.
Although we knew we were booking a "City Room" without a window and that was fine but what we didn't like was lack of chair/seat in the room, only one flat pillow each and there was no safe in the room. Did not like glass table and glass side table - especially in such a small room.
