We visited the Meliton Hotel for a week at the end of May. We were excited to go as this was our first holiday together. When we arrived we were greeted at reception and completed online check in which was quick and easy. We were offered food at a small fee as we arrived after 11pm however, we declined as we were so tired we just wanted to go to bed. Throughout the week we ate at the hotel multiple times and all the food was very good. All of the staff were excellent and very friendly. The room was cleaned every day with new towels provided. By the third night we decided we needed an extra pillow each which was provided without any problems. The atmosphere around the hotel was lovely and calming as you were slightly out of the way of the town, which was exactly what we were looking for. The hotel provided a shuttle service from the hotel to Theologos beach everyday, however we chose to walk as it was around 20 minutes away. On Tuesday they had a karaoke I night which we unfortunately missed out on, however, we were there on the Saturday for Greek night which was brilliant as everyone was up dancing and singing. We travelled to Rhodes by bus which was a 15 minute walk away from the hotel to the bus stop (Lemon Tree). I would definitely recommend using the times provided by Google Maps to find the times of the bus as we had used the Moovit app which ended up telling us incorrect times, so we wasted quite a lot of time waiting for the bus. It was €14 for 2 of us to get a return from Theologos to Rhodes which was definitely worth it. Each night there was music which stayed on until after the bar had closed, but this was no issue as we could not hear the music from our room. The hotel also provided an excursion service on a Sunday where you could chose to visit either Farma of Rhodes or the Butterflies Valley for €10. This was a brilliant experience and would definitely recommend. If you are looking for somewhere else to eat rather than the hotel for a change, we visited Dundees and Seaview Restaurant, which were both brilliant and good food for the price.
Overall, we would definitely recommend the Meliton as it was very good value. The staff are lovely and so welcoming, which made the stay even better.
It’s important people read reviews before booking their holidays! This is a lovely quiet hotel, off the beaten track and reasonably priced. If you’re looking for standard all inclusive, pool games, kids entertainment, loud, lively with burgers served every half hour this isn’t the hotel for you. It’s everything it says on the tin, chill, quiet and probably not suitable for families or party goers. We really enjoyed our stay because it was exactly what we were looking for 😃
We arrived late on a saturday night, and had the night receptionist. He initally seemed nice, and helped us check in. He informed us of an environmental fee, which we were prewarned about through our booking. However, we could only pay this by cash, not allowed by card. So we couldn't supply this straight away. We were shown our room, which was not as advertised. Air conditioning was not included in our room, which we were not informed about. The shower had a small moldy looking shower curtain, and was tiny. The "double bed" was two twin beds pushed together and another on the side. The room felt overly hot in comparison to everywhere else in the hotel, and some of the lights did not work. So we went down to the receptionist to complain, we were informed it was 7 euros a night for air conditioning in our room, and we were not able to upgrade that night. The night receptionist kept brushing us off and told us to wait till morning to discuss this with the morning receptionist. This is what we did. The morning receptionist was lovely and helped us upgrade rooms for 15 euros a night, she even showed us the room before we decided. We upgraded and this room had included air con and a better shower. Food in the hotel was miserable, same food almost every night and was often slightly warm even after freshly being put out. Options were limited, and food was only on at certain times, without time for snacks during the day. Considering it was "all inclusive" there was only one beer, one type of each wine (from a box), and one cocktail for an hour on an evening. We were not impressed, due to this not being advertised. Pool was lovely, and lots of sunbeds. Hotel location was down a 15 minute road, with minimal lighting and seemed rather dodgy. There was nothing around, the nearest restaurant atleast 30mins walk away. The nearest bus stop was at the end of the long road 15 mins down, buses were often, about once an hour, but got very full quickly. Cash was mostly requested if paying on the bus, but the hotel mini market also offered bus tickets.
We’ve just returned from a wonderful stay at Meliton Hotel in Theologos, Rhodes and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. It’s a lovely, quiet, family run hotel and because it’s nice and small it never feels overcrowded or too busy.
All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. A special mention has to go to Anna, who greeted us every morning with a warm “kalimera”, Lynn who looked after us so well during the afternoons, and Manos who was excellent every evening and always made us feel welcome. Their hospitality really made our holiday extra special.
The food was quite basic but always very tasty and fresh. Every lunch and evening meal included fresh Greek salad with feta cheese, soup with fresh bread, and a couple of different hot dishes such as pasta and chicken, so there was always something enjoyable to eat.
All inclusive drinks include beer and wine from 10am until 10.30 pm,
soft drinks and tea and coffee from 7.30am to 10.30pm
and local spirits from 4pm to 10.30pm
The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. We upgraded to a superior room and definitely felt it was worth paying the extra for the added comfort. We had a room overlooking the small pool at the front of the hotel and the surrounding fields.
There are two pools at the hotel — the main pool by the bar area at the back, and a quiet pool at the front of the hotel which was perfect for relaxing peacefully.
The surrounding area of Theologos is overall very quiet and ideal if you’re looking for a laid-back holiday away from busy resorts. There are only a couple of bars which are around a 15–20 minute walk away from the hotel including Billy’s Bar, Dundee’s, and our absolute favourite, Sunset Bar right on the beach, which was perfect for chilled evenings watching the sunset.
It’s also really easy to get into Rhodes Town as the bus stop is only about a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The bus costs around €3 each way and takes roughly 40–45 minutes, dropping you right by the port in the centre of Rhodes.
If you’re looking for a large hotel with entertainment and lots going on, this definitely isn’t the place for you as a few guests did seem to arrive expecting this and then spent their time complaining and being disappointed.
But if you want a very relaxed, peaceful and friendly holiday, with no large groups, no young parties (average guest age around mid 40’s plus and mostly couples) in a lovely family-run hotel, Meliton is absolutely perfect. Overall we felt this was really good value for money for a small family run hotel.
We will definitely be returning! 👌🌟
Our first trip abroad and tbh can't praise it enough peaceful location,,,with very helpful staff nothing was.a.problem the room was basic but cleaned and fresh linen daily,,, nice clean pool and a relaxed atmosphere,, not really the party place for young groups but as a couple perfect,,food was lovely and.not repetitive lots of fresh local produce will definitely return and recommended.
I would not stay here again it was not as advertised at all.
Its in the middle of no where down a country road. Its absolutely not all inclusive, as soon as you go to the very small food area there's lots of signs telling you that you can only have certain things within certain times for example you can only have a cocktail for 1 hour, from 22:00-23:00 and there's no choice of a cocktail they only server one type of cocktail a day. This is the same for beers and ciders and spirits, they are only available for 3 hours of the day.
The beach shuttle is at 10 i believe and the last shuttle back is 13:00 so can only spend 3 hours at the beach before having to figure out how to get back yourself.
The beds are absolutely horrendous!! Basically a concrete slab and you can feel the springs in the mattress. We did not sleep well at all.
You dont get any towels for around the pool, there's only snacks at certain times too. The soft drinks are just a syrup mixed with water so they are horrible.
The bathroom is very small, it was very difficult to wash yourself in the tiny shower. And the shower head was broken with water coming out the pipe and not the actual head.
The food available was also poor, hardly any hot food, mostly salad. The times breakfast, lunch and dinner are available are also very short periods and once you miss it the staff of the hotel come in and eat what's left so if you've missed it you have no chance of getting anything.
Just really poor, it was fairly cheap but for £300 per person for 3 nights and advertised as all inclusive I expected better.
Would definitely not recommend or stay again, spend a bit more and go somewhere with a better location and better bed!
Booked a 7 night stay. Arrived at the hotel and after an hour booked somewhere else for the last 4 nights of our stay in Faliraki. Hotel is advertised as “all inclusive” but on arrival we were told we would have to pay €50 cash for air conditioning. We also had to pay €25 climate tax, which is fine however they insisted we pay for it in cash?? Room was clean but we were given two twin beds stuck together which isn’t ideal as a young couple. The air conditioner was leaking out from a tube onto the balcony into an overflowing bucket. Shower door didn’t close properly. The worst part was the food. I understand we booked a cheap deal and you get what you pay for but the food was truly inedible. Old, hard, greasy pasta for lunch and dinner everyday. Very little variety between lunch and dinner on any of the days. Very little option for deserts. Barely any fruit at breakfast. Just seemed like old reheated crap every day. Plain foods suited to a western pallet are standard and expected in these types of all inclusive hotels but this was just badly done. Decided to venture into the town on one of the nights for dinner. Only option for getting there and back is walking through poorly lit roads. Definitely wouldn’t walk it alone or with girl friends. Alcohol had limited selection and was watered down and served in tiny plastic cups. Soft drinks etc were only available after 10am on all inclusive. I could go on and on. On a more positive note, the pools were lovely and clean and the staff were friendly. There is a shop where you can buy essentials, snacks and alcohol. If the food wasn’t so awful it would be fine for the type of holiday where you just want to sit by the pool all day.
We stayed here 4 months ago and I had to write a review as my partner and I still regularly laugh about how bad the experience was. Our fault for not reading the reviews in more depth before booking as so many of the reviews say the same.
If you’re good at breathing you’ll love this hotel cause that’s pretty much all they let you do without moaning.
Worst hotel I’ve been too …..
Well where do I start. Hotel was not 3* more like 1* rooms ok my room had tatty shower curtain which had seen better days. Towelshard and yellow looking instead of white. Food well could have been lot better even if got to get food at times stated was always lukewarm warm. My daughter and family are vegans guess they had to eat warm chips plain pasta and salad. Youngest lived on toast and watermelon for 10 nights, staff were ok friendly enough. Not recommend this hotel unless you not vegan and like extremely quiet time. Would never go back to this place I am disgusted beyond with this place. Breakfast 7.30-10. Lunch 12.30- 2.pm dinner7- 9 pm that’s its.Shop was ok but cheaper outside. Cocktails hour 9-10pm was a joke cocktail was slushie coloured water with splash of spirit. Greek night was ok as was karaoke.
Here at the Meliton Hotel all the staff came across polite easy to talk to and always help. Location is out the way good if your looking for a holiday to relax get away from all the noise and wind down. As we stayed in September -October we didn't really need the air con but to have this comes at an extra cost bedding, towels changed daily mopped and swept always clean . For me it was worth it because I needed a quiet holiday just to relax by the pool the food was good and catered for everyone's needs. The only thing that would of made this Hotel a 5 star for me as if it had a kettle in the room or an option to hire one. I would recommend this hotel for someone on the same budget all Inclusive is the best way to go as you are quite secluded. The atmosphere is always good its never noisey. Overall the place is good quiet there is a bus that takes you into the old town Rhodes plus excursions can be purchased from the hotel
Firstly the hotel is remote with very little nearby. The staff at the hotel are really hard working and very pleasant. The pool area was clean with staff constantly collecting glasses. The pool itself was adequate but had algae around the water line.
The rooms were more than adequate with the block overlooking the pools being the better rooms. The maids cleaned the room daily.
The food is limited with no types of food for the youngsters and little for any vegetarian travellers. Ice cream can only be had during meal times, with no snacks at all out of the set meal times.
Entertainment is limited to two evenings per week, one Greek dancing night and one Karaoke night.
There is definitely room for improvement, more entertainment on an evening would be great as the hotel is very remote.
More selection in the meal department and snacks during the day.
Catering for the young is minimal, ice cream is cheap so shouldn’t be just for meal times in my view.
My view is if you want an isolated hotel, with minimal noise then this is for you, if you have young children then I would look somewhere else.
All in all we enjoyed are stay in the most, but had to eat out three times just so the grandson could eat something he liked.
Ciste ubytovani pohodlne
