The property wasn’t a central location.
The room was musty and smelled like cigarette smoke. We tried to change rooms, but there were no other rooms available. We were charged an extra $535 because they assumed that the smell of smoke was from us. We explained that the cigarette, butt they found in the garbage was not from us smoking in the room and the previous guest obviously smoked there but the area manager Scott refused to help us.
The location is excellent, but that is not enough to save this review. This was our third time staying at this property as Hilton Honors Members, and sadly, it will be our last. One would not expect a Hilton to parody a low-end motel, yet shades of identity hallmarks are there. We booked a King Bed Balcony Room for 2 people for 5 days. During our stay we had 1 small circle of soap to share; 1 small bathroom hook; 1 single towel rack -- not even enough room to hang two towels; 6 single sheets of tissue in a dispenser (apparently, not having a full-size box for your guests must save the big pennies); 2 rolls of toilet paper; 3 bath towels; 2 hand towels; and 2 wash cloths. Yes, you can keep asking for more, but should you really have to for what you're paying? The plastic blackout curtain was torn on the left with a huge gash that just hung there, on the right, midway was also torn; and the cloth curtains were visibly dirty and actually stained; the heater/cooler unit had all manner of gunk on the base, with bits of it just hanging from it on the floor. The 2 chairs on the balcony patio were patched up with electricians tape on the torn seats, and sat on grotty cement, with no amenities or decor of any kind. The linens reeked of bleach and were minimal-- not at all the former Hilton level of quality linens. All the hallmarks of a cheap hotel. Another family member who also booked a King Bed Balcony had the same situation, but for just one person, and no hanging and torn plastic blackout curtains. Additionally, in the past, guests were able to park their car in the underground parking for no fee, but now valet parking is mandated there at $48 per day. It really is a shame. We have seen this sort of thing happen to other hotels, but to have it happen to this one, in beautiful Savannah, is particularly disappointing. And finally, this property does not recycle at all ( not cardboard, paper, or plastic -- none of it), and yet hand out single-use plastic water bottles without the ability of the guests to recycle them in-room, nor fill their own bottles (which at least 90% of people carry these days) with filtered water from a water station on the premises. As they say, "vote with your wallet" -- and until these hotel owners and managers get the message, the wallet will go to other properties that more align with modern day values and expectations.
Whole experience was excellent, no wait time picking up my car, extremely friendly and helpful upon entering and leaving. Kiersten was the attendant who me. Hard-working, making sure I had all my bags, and belongings before leaving.
schönes Hotel, zentral gelegen, man kann alle Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß erreichen sowohl in der Stadtmitte als auch am Flussufer
sehr hohe Preise
I mean, there’s a lot of great places you can stay in Savannah. I wouldn’t say this is the greatest place to stay, but because of Danny (super professional), we had a top floor amazing balcony view of the sites. It is a great location and the people here are absolutely focused on providing fantastic customer service. With all of the options down here I would definitely return.
The place is well maintained. Its beautiful. The location is close to everything. The room was very clean. The beds are comfortable. Great service. Everyone was friendly. Valet parking was easy & convenient.
Breakfast was not included.
Let’s start with the 4 o’clock check in: Where is that normal? Second, got here 45 minutes early and just wanted to see if the room was ready. Was told to go get my luggage and they’d try to get me in. Came back at 4:15 and my room was still not ready. Nice guy at the front desk got me into a new room. Did not show up in my app. Was not welcomed on the tv. Valet didn’t contact me. Not the best experience by far. Electronic key would not open doors. Response: use your other key. No apology. Sad.
Normally, I am a Hilton fan, but I won’t book another Hilton property after this experience. I’ve been to 20 countries and 30 states, and travel frequently. Single worst experience I’ve had with hotel staff.
Overwhelmed with hotel and restaurant choices then came upon Hilton Garden Inn. Immediately got to drop car off at valet, then walked in and was greeted by Danny at the front desk who was happy to give us all sorts of lovely recommendations! Thankful for him taking the time to help two overwhelmed parents and providing his insider knowledge, helpfulness, and personable recommendations while visiting this beautiful city!
Clean and well maintained
Our room was facing Bay St and was EXPOSED NOISY. On a weekend night it is VERY difficult to sleep.
Breakfast should have been included!
Good location, friendly staff, comfortable
Very loud at night, cars racing every night and people yelling. We got no sleep. The room was cleaned once, we had to ask for towels and coffee every day, ran out of toilet paper, tissues, body wash and was not restocked. Trash was not taken out.
Fairly good location and the venue in general is quite OK.
They promised us to check in in a certain room and when we got there, they gave the room to somebody else. They tried to say they were gonna give us some points, but not cool.
