El lugar es muy agradable, la gente muy agradable.

Hotel muy bonito, tranquilo y romántico. Rico desayuno. Personal muy atento y servicial, encantadores. Habitaciones muy cómodas. El patio del hotel es muy agradable para tomar alguna de las "amenities" que ofrece el hotel fuera del horario del desayuno
Hubiera estado bien que tuviera servicio de restauración, pero no es imprescindible. Por la zona hay muchos sitios para comer, además el hotel te puede recomendar sitios.

Le salon est tres agréable. Pas de bar mais il est possible de se servir un verre et de le régler le lendemain, du vin pétillantet du porto sont laisséàdispositiongratuitementdès18h. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et varié
La petite bouteille de Porto à disposition dans la chambre était vraiment la petite touche en plus

Transport links into town e.g. tram/bus good, required just a short walk.
Room, although facing onto street, was very quiet.

Peacocks were great, did not disturb me in the room.
Complimentary coffee available in lounge, but freshly brewed would have been better e.g. bean to cup machine.

They place is so cute and well thought out. They really go to the effort to attend to the details. Lovely staff.
While it is near the castle, you have to remember that castles are on the top of the hill. I'm not sure how older travelers get in and out of this place. It is a workout every time you leave.
The location was nice, in a tourist area and close to the castle. The staff were helpful.
the walls between the rooms were very thin. We could hear the neighbor snoring, which disturbed our sleep.
The place was quite noisy, especially because of the peacocks nearby, so I would not recommend this hotel if you are a light sleeper.

What a delightful surprise - we had no idea Solar would turn out to be the best hotel of 25 hotels in our recent tour of Europe. From the superb location - highest in Lisbon, to exceptional staff, complimentary champagne and peacocks - we are still telling stories about this heritage hotel.
