Location in the Cotswolds, easy to get to other towns. Loved the beautiful outdoor area plus covered terrace for the restaurant.
The room was furnished in a lovely way with bathrobes plus chargeable mini bar and snack selection.
It also had a large Dyson fan which came in handy.
There was complementary water, cookies, tea, and coffee and also an alcoholic nightcap (unsure what it was as I didn’t try) but all lovely touches.
The drain from the bathroom was very smelly. I bought a candle which the staff said I couldn’t light for safety reasons – fair enough. They came and put drain cleaner down the drain but it continued to smell quite strongly which crept into the bedroom. Quite unpleasant though they did absorb the cost of a small bottle of wine from the minibar to compensate.
There was an issue with the side table lamps which once turned, would immediately dim so much that I couldn’t read my book, so I had to have the main overhead light on.
I mentioned both items to the staff, so hopefully they can fix for the next guest.
The mattress could use a topper to give it a more plush feel as you could feel the outline of the mattress trim through the sheet.
Also, the tray that sits across the bath was too small and kept falling in so wasn’t usable.
These seem like minor issues, but for the price of the room (£220 for one night) in my opinion, they should be remedied.
All the meals we ate and the bed were the highlights

This place is a little Gem. Great location in a small quaint village. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. Food is excellent and reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly.

Warm welcome, cosy and stylish pub and delicious food
Was surprised that the shower was in the bedroom and therefore visible from the bed.
Given my wife's varied food allergies, the young man who attended to us in the evenings gave us phenomenal service! He expressed understanding, was patient and kind, and worked creatively with the kitchen to come up with options for her. The outdoor and garden dining options were very lovely, and the food was consistent and very good Off-street parking was a plus, but get there early.
Upon arrival, we saw the blind in our room was broken on one side, and was left hanging crooked. I was able to do a quick remedial fix that should have been able to have been done rather easily by the room attendant.
The young woman at the front desk who checked us in was not the most friendly and welcoming. She was obviously just there to perform her duty,...and that, without a smile. Fortunately that was not our experience with the dining staff.

An amazing stay overall - the hotel exceeded my expectations from the photos provided. Beautifully quaint. Our room was larger than expected and designed very well and beautifully - the decor was lovely. The hotel earns top marks for their food which was exceptional - breakfast each morning was delicious (including the continental and cooked (especially the cooked) - they did have a walnut loaf on show without a label and being allergic to tree nuts this wasn't ideal but i could visibly see the nuts though not the point)). Dinner each night was also incredible - from the fresh oysters, to the pea and wild garlic soup and the homemade pie. Their Sunday roasts were perfect. The hotel had everything you need and i couldn't recommend enough - we saw some Morris dancing in the town on the Saturday which was amazing too.
The hotel catered for dogs which is amazing, but my I did feel my asthma flare up at night when sleeping, which I can only assume is due to dogs having been in the room previously. Both a fan and heating were provided but it would have been nice to be able to open the windows and get some fresh air - i couldn't seem to open them.

Beautifully decorated room and exceptionally clean. Very friendly staff and lovely restaurant. On site free parking and within close proximity to popular local towns for exploring.

Atmosphere and food quality was high
Room was noisy as it overlooked the restaurant and some bad smell was coming out of the drains.
Quaint and friendly atmosphere. Staff was amazing. The food was delicious and the drinks were made well.
No air conditioning.
