Terrible, disappointing and expensive experience

The property pictures were nowhere near the state of the property - I have nothing nice to say about the property

We booked months ago and asked for early check in as we would be traveling from 4am - we called 3 times on the day and was told our room would not be ready until stated time of 2pm. We arrived at 1:30pm asked again when if our room would be ready again at 2pm, 2:30pm, 3pm….
I had to ask the staff can you get the cleaners to do our room next … upon getting our room it was the furthest room, with no natural light and ventilation- that was not our holiday away. The room was below stand.
Without sounding like a difficult guest, we just wanted a nice room as advertised - my wife didn’t like the quality of the room so we checked out. The staff could have checked on our specific room but and made sure it was ready - failure to have a too ready by check in time is bad management of the business - not something that should be passed onto guests. We said we would pay for the 1st day but if they could agree refund the remaining days - even though they verbally agreed - the refund was rejected. It was a terrible, disappointing and expensive experience staying at the Bay Village Tropical retreat.

Enjoyed the stay except for the above. Good food. Good facilities. Great place to stay. Very clean

Cons:

Noisy outside the room. Right near the laundry and nobody could talk normally without shouting. Could hear them with windows and door closed

The photos of the family rooms are misleading as there are 2 types of family rooms which is not mentioned . There were 3 adults in our party and we thought we had a room with a separate double bedroom but we had a room with everyone in the 1 room.
When we checked in and explained this to reception the staff member was not helpful.
Spoke to a different staff member the following morning who was much more helpful and managed to change our room
