I like it was close to the City.
No microwave.
Female workers weren't that friendly.
Location
Very noisey early morning staff moving trolleys aroumd trucks and scrapping of shovel on cement ,room above could hear every movement of chairs and noise . Single beds pushed together no matress topper so would fall between gap and beds seperate .
Nothing
No Iron, children’s beds right next to the front door, dirty tiles all through the bathroom, not enough towels, no kitchen sink, very uncomfortable beds, no cutlery or plates, no airco in lounge. Lighting was extremely low which made the place very dark.
Location
Unfriendly staff
Dirty room
Messy dirty grounds
No face washers
Good location, staff were friendly.
Room was old, musty smell, ants in room. Shower had very low water pressure. I had previously stayed in their apartments across the road which are very modern and clean, disappointed this time staying in the main hotel section as it was very run down in comparison.
Great economical place to stay for families, with helpful staff.
Quite a walk into the busy Cairns central district.
Position
great
nothing
Nice and clean and accomodating, handy to hospital airport and city.
Parking on the street. Considering what is happening in cairns at the moment, Could be tricky to find parks during the day.
The location was good. Close to the beach, 5 min drive to esplanade and reef centre. And quick route to the highway to northern beaches.
We stayed for 6 nights and had a mixed experience, mainly due to misleading photos and poor communication about room facilities.
When I initially browsed the property, the photos showed kitchen facilities including a stovetop. I later realised that the studio I booked did not specifically list a stovetop, so I accept that I partly missed checking the exact facilities before booking. However, one staff member also acknowledged that the photos were inaccurate. The studio itself had a microwave, kitchen sink and utensils, which were important for a longer stay.
The staff kindly offered to move us to a family room with a separate bedroom. We agreed, only to discover after moving that the family room had no microwave, no kitchen sink and no utensils. Essentially, we gained a bedroom but lost all the kitchen facilities that were the reason I raised the issue in the first place. This should absolutely have been explained before moving us.
The communication around housekeeping was equally confusing. I was told rooms were serviced only once every 3 days. When I pointed out that the family room had no sink to wash used cups, the staff member simply said we would “have to find a way.” I asked if housekeeping could at least clear the cups daily and was told no. Ironically, housekeeping did attend the family room daily, which suggests the staff themselves were unclear about the hotel’s arrangements.
Parking is another point to note. The property mentions free parking, but hotel parking is limited, while nearby street parking is generally 4P.
Overall, some staff genuinely tried to help, and I appreciate that. However, the misleading photos, failure to explain what facilities we would lose when changing rooms, and inconsistent information from staff made the stay unnecessarily frustrating.
My advice: confirm the exact facilities of your specific room type directly with the property, especially if kitchen facilities or parking are important to you..
The attached restaurant was excellent and we enjoyed it several nights.
The room was spacious and clean.
The bed was the only place to watch the TV from as the table and chairs were blocked off by a little wall. It would have been great to have a sofa to sit in.
Spacious room - huge bathroom
No comfortable seating - only kitchen chairs. Room decor left a "cold" feeling not a warm Balinese feeling.
