Perfect choice
Pros:

Lovely independent hotel with loads of history and character 5 mins walk from the train station and very close to Gothenburg’s lively old town centre full of shops and restaurants. Super welcoming stash and even elevator that greets you. Comfortable beds and nice bathroom. Very good breakfast.

For Real Royals
Pros:

Hotel Royal exceeded my expectations in every way. The location is excellent, making it easy to explore the city on foot while still offering a peaceful place to unwind. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well maintained, with a bed that guaranteed a great night's sleep.

The staff were consistently warm, professional, and genuinely helpful, making check-in and the entire stay effortless. Breakfast offered a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options, and every part of the hotel felt well cared for.

What really stood out was the attention to detail. Everything simply worked, from the cleanliness to the service and overall atmosphere. In a world where some hotels seem to compete over who can charge the most while trying the least, Hotel Royal is a refreshing exception.

I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Ask yourself: Do I feel royal?
Families with children were coming straight from the woods, bringing noise and chaos into the common areas. Read the room. If you're looking for a family-friendly hotel, go to Scandic. If you're looking for a genuinely refined atmosphere, this may not be the place.

Im Großen und Ganzen empfehlenswert.
Pros:

Empfang, Frühstück, Lage, Kaffee am Nachmittag

Cons:

Toilette war nicht ganz sauber geputzt anfangs (wahrscheinlich übersehen) und kleine Flecken auf einem Polsterüberzug. Haben wir aber nicht genutzt also auch keine Reklamation.

Wonderful stay and highly recommend
Pros:

Daily breakfast was traditional swedish food and delicious, the 24/7 coffee bar was greatly appreciated along with the evening cakes. The location was close to central station and downtown so didn't need a care. The room was decorated in tradtional Swedish, very cute and cool to be in the oldest hotel in Gothenburg.

Cons:

The front entrance doors were a little strange but not an issue.

Sijainti on loistava. Hotelli on kaunis ja tunnelmallinen, 24-h respa toimii.

Cons:

Huoneeseen kuului häiritsevästi musiikin jytke jostain läheltä. Emme saaneet nukuttua ennen kuin jytke päättyi 01:00. Ilmastointia ei voinut itse säätää.
