Great base for exploring Rome.
Pros:

We liked its location near restaurants, transport hubs, and the beautiful Maggiore Church. We also liked the clean functional quirky twin bedded room. We liked the friendly helpful staff. We only had a short time on this visit but we would happily return to Hotel California on future visits

Cons:

We are elderly and had to be careful with the steepish step between the beds and the bathroom .

Pass on this Hotel
Pros:

The room was clean and the air conditioning was great.

Cons:

The interior of the hotel was run down and in need of much repair. The toiletries were little packets. Barely enough to wash hair, if needed. The breakfast did not offer much in the way of gluten free and they did not provide coffee cups to go. There was also a broken latch on one of our window shutters.The shower and vanity room was small. No counter space of any kind.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, great location and good value for money.
Pros:

Close to Rome Termini. Good sized lift. Room totally refurbished. Bathroom refurbished.great sound proofed windows overlooking street below. Great access to loads of restaurants. Very comfortable large bed and pillows. Good value for money.There is a large supermarket called (Mercato) on the other side of Rome Termini building, just walk around the corner.

Cons:

Not enough shelving in the bathroom to place toiletries.

It satisfied our needs
Pros:

Hotel was in a good location with easy access to Metro., Breakfast was awkward and had to go into the basement which was a struggle for my wife and definitely not an accessible hotel even though they attempt to be one.

The street dinning and size of room.

Does the essentials well.
Pros:

Good aircon, large hard bed and convenient location. It had all the essentials and did them well. The breakfast was also good. No fancy extras.
