Thoroughly enjoyed this hotel would highly recommend it to anyone
Pros:

I loved this hotel one of my favourites of our whole trip. Staff lovely. Amazing location such an easy walk to shopping . Rooms very comfortable and clean. Great breakfast. Great view from room. I only tried the garden pool which was huge and quite deep up one end even had a spa surrounded by shady trees on one side. Pool water felt like it was heated absolutely loved this pool so didn’t try the rooftop one. Would absolutely stay here again.

Amazing experience!
Pros:

Elegant hotel, decorated with Italian treasures. Cleanliness to perfection. Service with attention and warmth. All staff have friendly and respectful manners. Walking distance or short taxi drive to most attractions. Highly recommend!

great location. Steer clear of the transfer service!
Pros:

The property was clean and comfortable

Cons:

Overall the hotel was great. I used the transfer service. They charge €150 from Naples airport to the hotel. The terms cleanly state an additional charge of €70 if your flight is delayed more than an hour.
My flight was delayed by 50 minutes, so I sent the hotel an email whilst at our departure airport to let them know. Nonetheless, the driver was sent to the airport early anyway.
On arrival at Naples, I was advised on email by the hotel concierge that there would be no extra charge.
I was then sent a follow up email the next day saying I would be charged an extra €70 as the driver logged we were an hour late.
The concierge at the hotel was completely unwilling to hear my point of view and I gave up arguing with her as I didn’t want to taint the short holiday I had any forthe. Very disappointing that a hotel of this standard can get this so wrong !
We ended up paying €220 in total for a one way journey to the hotel in Sorrento.
I booked a return transfer on the Viator app which was significantly cheaper with no t&cs, it was the same standard transfer and it arrived on time.

High quality service and very welcoming staff
Pros:

We visited for a family wedding at nearby Positano. Rooms were a mix of sea view and singles. The sea view were excellent and to a high standard of comfort and decor with excellent aircon. Quality toiletries, however they were not replaced until we asked. The single rooms are small but well equipped and were ideal for our elderly mother. Breakfast is excellent as was the food at lunch. We found the main restaurant food of a high quality and reasonably priced compared to restaurants in the centre.
Service was outstanding from Mikel at reception, to the waiters and serving staff with a special shout out to Samuele who was super attentive.
The hotel is a ten minute walk to the main square away from the city noise but close enough. We had to use taxis due to mobility within the party and note the min fee is 15/20 euro depending on vehicle which was quite expensive over the stay.
A place I would not hesitate to revisit

Superb!
Pros:

What a wonderful hotel, it has 4 stars but the staff and aesthetic, particularly in the lobby and gardens deserve 5 stars.
At check in the 2 ladies were really helpful and informative. The concierge chap was lovely too and worked long hours but kept smiling.
We went to grab a drink outside while they were getting our room ready, what a lovely outside eatery/bar and very reasonably priced food and drinks. We had lunch and then went to our room.
The room was 312, very spacious and well equipped, the bed was comfy and air-conditioning brilliant. The only part that could have been better was the bathroom. It was a shower over the bath with an attached metal plug which was irremovable and a bit of a trip/stub hazard. The shower itself had good pressure and the rest of the bathroom was great.
The staff - room cleaning - fantastic staff who did a wonderful job and with a turn down service.
The restaurant/bar - the barman was great and personable. The restaurant staff - Samuele and his team were superb! They were so impeccably turned out and attentive, a real credit to the hotel. I told Samuele we've been to hotels all over the world, 4 and 5 stars and Hotel de la Ville stood out brilliantly on every level, particularly the service 5 star! We were here 4 nights and dined at the hotel for three of them, something we've never done before. I recommend and would return.

Mostly good. Bad view.
Pros:

I enjoyed the hotel for the most part. The staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was good and was included in the price. I had dinner at the restaurant a couple of times and both times the food was very good.

The biggest complaint is the view from my room. I had a sideways partial sea view room on the sixth floor with a balcony. I paid over €500 per night and for that price the view was mostly disappointing, because what I saw primarily were buildings with construction, as well as an orchard of some sort in front of the hotel that was covered with a large green tarp! I am including photos, so you can judge for yourself.

Great visit!
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel de la Ville in Sorrento. The location is perfect, the hotel is beautiful and impeccably clean, and every detail is thoughtfully maintained.
The staff truly made our stay special. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and always happy to help, making us feel right at home.
We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sorrento and would gladly stay here again!The only downside was that the stunning rooftop pool closed quite early. After a full day of sightseeing, it would have been wonderful to relax, cool off, and enjoy the beautiful views until sunset.

Absolutely perfect!!
Pros:

Everything about this hotel is beautiful, the staff, the staff, the facilities, the views from our bedroom balcony and the food!! The location to the city centre was about 3 minutes walk but far enough away to not be noisy. Breakfasts were served in a lovely garden area and had every variety of food you could ask for!
