Disappointing
Pros:

Room wasnt bad but NOT what I would call Deluxe. It was pretty standard and overpriced for what it was. Air Con wouldnt go below 19 and the temperatures were pretty high ( for here!) so not ideal. When we mentioned it at reception they said they turned it on (it should have been working without us having to ask!) and even then it still wasnt great.
They state there is free parking. There is VERY VERY limited free parking & it looks like anyone can park there, not just hotel guests. I got a call a couple of days before we arrived telling me it was very busy & car park would be busy but there is parking nearby that we can pay for
It is a bit disingenuous to advertise free car parking when you know the car park is tiny and probably full at the weekends and the call in advance of your arrival doesnt change the fact they know the parking is an issue and they are trying to cover their asses. We did have to pay for the nearby parking which wasnt expensive but still not what was advertised

Cons:

When we arrived we were met with a stand offish receptionist that didnt really want to answer 1 or 2 questions. We asked to change restaurants due to time constraints & just wanted to keep it casual. When we went to the restaurant they had no record of the change, ok fine.We were seated, we got our drinks in a reasonable time but our 2 course meal took just over 2 hours with all the waiting. It was about 50 to 60% full so not mad busy in the restaurant.
I ordered the 8oz steak not 10oz all ingredients are identical on both only difference is the meat. I'm not a chef or a butcher so I didnt weigh the meat either because funnily enough I just assumed they would know how to do their job & give me what I ordered. I was so hungry & fed up with the delay I just started eating quickly as we didnt have a lot of time at this stage, when we got the bill I was overcharged & when I queried it I was talked down to in a very rude, condescending way.
He would not listen to what I was saying & was very patronising, saying "I should have known" & "could I not tell what it was supposed to be" a few times. I tried to explain I didnt, but he kept on talking over me & interrupting me.
Eventually, the manager came (I didnt ask for her) & she didnt seem to want to listen either so I said I would pay the higher amount as I had enough at this point & needed to leave, they did charge me what I ordered in the end but seriously! I ordered clearly what I wanted so it was their mistake. Very disappointing. This night away was for my partners birthday and it was not what I had hoped it would be.

Great place to stay, great location
Pros:

Property was great and had air conditioning 😊. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Located right in the Viking triangle near a number of museums. Was a bit busy with Gaelic football teams in the area so didn’t get to really enjoy the pubs but can’t help that.

Cons:

We were only here for a night and had a lovely experience. Not much that we didn’t like.
