Pleasant once we checked in
Pros:

View was exceptional Beautiful room Gorgeous grounds

Cons:

We called earlier in the day to ask about checking in early Since it was Labor Day weekend we weren’t able to get into a redwood park and were coming earlier We were told it wasn’t a guarantee but they would try to accommodate us We also tried to eat at a nearby crab shack but the line was half a block long We came to bodega bay an hour and half early Our room wasn’t ready so we asked to man checking us in if there were restaurants on site He told us to go to the fireside restaurant We walked there and found it was closed We sat in our car until 4 when I called to see if our room was ready

We were told our bags would be waiting for us in our room
I thought that was odd because our bags were in our car

I walked back and picked our keys

Friendly & Appreciative- Top‑Notch Service and a Truly Enjoyable Stay
Pros:

Our stay was excellent. The room was clean and tidy, and the cleaning service was top‑notch — we truly felt pampered. We were well taken care of throughout our visit, and the bar staff at the restaurant was friendly and attentive, which made our evenings even better. A special thank‑you to the check‑in crew for starting our visit off on the right foot. We genuinely enjoyed our time here.

Very special and memorable stay.
Pros:

Amazing room, facilities and setting. The restaurants were a highlight too.

We were also received a complimentary upgrade for our engagement.

Pool and spa facilities were excellent as well.

Cons:

Only negative was we received a spa bill on our invoice that wasn't ours.

We only picked this up at checkout on the printed receipt.

This was quickly rectified by the property though.

BEWARE - SERIOUS PRICE GOUGING
Pros:

BEWARE - This place takes the prize, BY FAR, for the worst value we have ever experienced for a hotel. They charged $1300 for a night (inclusive of taxes and breakfast) and we thought we were going to some super fancy high end resort. It's a glorified motel!! Seriously like the room was a slightly fancier motel room. Lower level "Ocean View" consisted of a glimpse of water over a hedge. "Fireplace" was neither gas nor wood. They provided a tiny duralog. The "patio" is a small balcony. Reception was two kids behind a counter, we didn't even know it was the reception until we got out and asked. No other services whatsoever. Like a motel. We were shocked they were charging that for what it is. Straight up gouging. A meal at Drake's made it a little better because the food was good but otherwise it was a complete rip-off.

Peaceful setting
Pros:

The setting of the Bodega Bay Lodge is terrific. The room was large and incredibly QUIET. The bed was super comfy. The only downside was that we couldn't get a dinner reservation when we arrived on a Sunday night. I wish we had been informed that this was necessary when we booked.

Busy Busy but Still Fantastic Stay
Pros:

Bodega Bay Lodge is our favorite place. We have gone back again and again. It is truly a lovely resort with excellent service. This was the first time we stayed when they were maxed out. Our room wasn't ready. Breakfast in-room was 45 minutes not 20, and we had an issue with how we were charged. We had a wet stain on the rug from the previous occupants. The staff wrote a personal note, brought towels, a lovely bottle of wine, and some chocolates. We do think this is a wonderful place!

Clean room, good location

Cons:

$45 fee for advance check in (check in time was at 4pm) even though the room was ready. I stopped by their office around 2pm (at their request) to give them my credit card, but they still wanted to charge extra

Memorable stay
Pros:

Truly a memorable stay. Staff was so welcoming and really knew what they were doing and were exemplary. The check in by Hannah was smooth and she genuinely engaged with us and had great conversational skill and wit above and beyond the usual process. Tom from the Drake Restaurant was always attentive and warm. Both of them really made a difference to the stay.

Perfect Honeymoon
Pros:

We stayed at The Lodge at Bodega Bay for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint! We loved EVERYTHING. They had bikes, binoculars, board games, a nature walk, coffee, sparking lemonade, s'mores, an amazing pool/hot tub, and robes and slippers! The location was perfectly central to everything we wanted to see/do/eat in Bodega Bay. The room was spacious and clean and guest services was very helpful and friendly!

First time, but not last time

Loved this place!!
Pros:

We had a romantic little getaway here… just an hour from home, so we’ll definitely be returning! Everything about the place was wonderful and exceeded our expectations, including the restaurant. Highly recommend!
