The location is brilliant we gave stayed in this hotel about 5 times.
When we turned up it was the day of a new company taking over the hotel, there was works vans around the side which i couldn't drive up as I was told I could park my car there as im disabled. The whole hotel looked tired cupboard doors hanging off etc which i did report to reception because it didn't look good. The cupboard in question was near the bar so everyone would walk by it. We " my Mrs and I felt a little let down which I hope was a one off because we do love this hotel.
Dog friendly and very comfy room, very clean
The location is perfect for exploring the city. The room was spacious and comfortable, cleaned daily to a high standard. Breakfast was good and staff friendly. The reception staff attempted to solve issues, even under obvious stress.
No rooms were ready and we were told we'd have to wait until the evening. Luckily I managed to get one earlier and raced in to start a business video call. But the WiFi wouldn't stay connected and the meeting was impossible to hold. There was no WiFi in the bar either, so it was cash only which made things awkward for our group.
My room didn't have a full size mirror, required for dressing to host an event. Just a bathroom mirror. Staff eventually tried to source a mirror, of which there were none available, or exchange my room, but the alternative options were either missing a fridge and still no mirror, or with mirror but no fridge or clothes hanging facilities or air con.
It's a real shame as I've been coming here for a few years, but the lack of WiFi (even after the bar seemed to rectify theirs) and other amenities means I'll likely stay and entertain elsewhere in future.
My room was very big, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. In the room was a table and 2 chairs and a desk with a chair. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided. The location was excellent, only minutes walk away from the station, restaurants and SADDACA where my convention was being held. The restaurant area was very beautiful with lots of natural light and a covered walkway outside where exotic plants could grow in the sheltered conditions.
The breakfast was just about OK, looked like it had been out awhile and my fish and chips the night before was OK but not excellent. I avoided the cooked breakfast on the Sunday opting for fruit and toast but the fruit looked like it had been put away on Saturday and brought out again on Sunday.
Great location and lobby area / restaurant welcoming. Staff lovely
Breakfast looked very good.
The word ‘premium’ needs to be removed. It sets expectations. Just leave it as ‘double room’ - very tired, soulless, felt empty, no full length mirror or doors on wardrobes which was a bit odd. Very expensive for the room but it was the festival so I appreciate room prices double during that period. Perhaps at £120 it would be ok. At £220 it definitely wasn’t.
Great location next to the peace gardens and the staff were friendly
Our standard room looked tired but that’s reflected in the price
Location and quiet
Nothing
Been before and great location for wedding at the town hall
My bathroom flooded after one shower, and no one came to clean on my second day so had a damp bathroom and no dry towels
Location, room, facilities, view were all great
Nothing
Great location, spacious room, good view and liked having the use of a pool
