In over 30 years of travelling, I have never experienced anything like this. At 9:55 PM, just five minutes before 10 PM, I received a call from Greet Hôtel Villeneuve-la-Garenne. There was no greeting, not even a "good evening." Instead, I was told that unless I paid immediately through a private payment link, outside of my Booking.com reservation, the staff would go to bed and I would find the doors locked when I arrived.
I was genuinely shocked. Being pressured to pay through an unofficial link, late in the evening and with the threat of being locked out, is not how a reputable hotel should treat its guests. It also felt unsafe from a payment-security point of view.
I had to call Booking.com directly to sort out the situation and ended up cancelling the reservation. The whole process kept me on the phone for about an hour, late at night, when I should have been resting before my trip...
Staff very kind
Room was very sad and poor , the building too. Too expensive per night, considering quality of the rooms.

Chambre propre et confortable.
Salle de bain propre mais un peu exiguë du fait de la porte qui s'ouvre vers l'intérieur.
Il serait bien de mettre un grand miroir dans la chambre.
Le manque d'insonorisation des chambres. On entend nos voisins comme s'ils étaient dans la même pièce que nous.
Le manque d'égards des autres clients qui ne respectent pas le sommeil des autres en parlant, riant fort et claquant les portes en pleine nuit.

Parecía un albergue, no es nada malo, pero si a tener en cuenta cuando pone que la categoría del hotel es de 3*. Quizá un poco de inseguridad porque teníamos dos puertas en la habitación y una de ellas daba al exterior y no había pestillo para cerrarla. Habitación y wc pequeños. No se notaba mucha limpieza.
