Fantastic stay and experience
Pros:

We have just returned from a fantastic stay at this hotel.It is well placed close to Tasso square with spectacular views over the Bay of Naples and a stunning sea bathing platform and sundeck . The hotel is very warm friendly and sophisticated . A special mention to Salvatore and his team who have created sublime cocktails to start off an evening. Also the lovely lady who serves up fresh omelettes in the morning . All of the staff are warm , friendly and courteous . Very much looking forward to returning

Great Hotel for Adults
Pros:

The Grand Royal Hotel is located very conveniently to the main square in Sorrento. Walkable to many attractions, restaurants and shopping. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful in getting whatever you need from a taxi or a drink by the pool over looking Mt. Vesuvius.

Stunning location
Pros:

Spent 7 nights in this stunning 5 star hotel, set on a cliff top in a excellent location in sorrento we where in room 616 on the sixth floor with spectacular views of the gardens and pool below and stunning views across the sea and across to mount Vesuvius.
Hotel was perfect as was the very friendly and welcoming staff, we stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, the breakfast was absolutely fantastic and delicious.
Swimming pool was a good size with plenty of sun beds available and never felt overcrowded, we preferred to get the hotels private lift down to their private decked area which was large and had direct access into the sea, also had a terraced area and bar that served cold drinks and had a excellent menu to choose from for lunch, which we ate there every lunchtime as the food was so good.
The decked area was excellent, with drinks and food served to your sun beds available if that’s what you wanted, special thanks to Marco for making our holiday so special for us always smiling, very knowledgeable and very professional and polite.
The main restaurant on the terrace served up some of the best food I’ve ever eaten, excellent sunset views from the restaurant and the large terrace.
Would highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

Overpriced
Pros:

Way overpriced for the stay and service. Pool and cleaning staff were wonderful but front desk staff not helpful and borderline rude. There are nicer hotels for the value.

Pros:

This is the most beautiful place (hotel & surroundings) we have to had visited so far in Europe. Elegant, perfectly appointed, quiet, perfect bathing conditions... all you could expect for a couple of luxury vacation with a direct view to Vesuvius and Naples golf.

1 week stay as part of an engagement - unbelievable service
Pros:

Myself and me now fiancée stayed here for 1 week. I proposed to on the 4th day and the staff (especially Claudia), were extremely helpful and accommodating. They arranged champagne and flowers at short notice, alongside giving us a Suite upgrade for free.

Outside of this the views of the Amalfi were one of the best we experienced, with an amazing private beach area to relax.

Would definitely stay at the hotel again if we were to come back to Sorrento!

Luxurious old style hotel hotel in a great location, fantastic view from our room to the Bay of Naples and Mt Vesuvius. Fantastic view from from the restaurants , manicured , lush garden and proximity to the Centre of Sorrento .

Cons:

It was limited number of sun lounges around the pool area, early afternoon there was none empty, or guests left their towels there regardless they intended to return or not .
