Grand Hotel Vesuvio

The hotel was very nice. great location and easy access to the town. The pool area was perfect for relaxation.

This hotel was excellent. The rooms were large for a family of 4 we ended up extending our stay as we loved it that much. The staff were extremely helpful and the rooms were cleaned everyday to great standards.

We had a lovely holiday at The Grand Vesuvio , the views are amazing . The staff were pleasant (except one grumpy older man called Guiseppe who was quite rude) the housekeeping team did a great job , the rooms were spotless with regular fresh towels and bed linen. A special mention to Brixton in the bar he is a credit to the hotel, service with a smile ! The outside bar terrace was lovely, inside the furniture is a bit tired looking though Lovely background entertainment each evening. The swimming pool was a great size and perfect temperature.

Clean, shuttle bus to Sorrento downtown, good staff .

We visited the Grand Hotel Vesuvio for the first time at the end of May 2026 and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. This was our 4th time in Sorrento but first at this hotel. The staff were polite and very helpful. The hotel was clean throughout including the pool area and gardens. We were half board, the breakfast was delicious serving a variety of egg choices if you asked. The evening meal choices were varied and again delicious.
The pool area was spacious with plenty of available sun beds, the pool itself was very clean.
The bar area is perfect for relaxing in the evening with a drink and entertainment.
There is a regular return shuttle bus into Sorrento which is very useful for visiting the town.
Select a sea room view room if you can, the views are amazing.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel and we will be returning soon.

Hotel is lovely and clean. However the food lets it down terribly. Really unimaginative courses and dessert is always ice cream or the same cake every day…..
Virtually nothing to eat for vegetarians (except for at breakfast when they can have the same cake as the previous night).

This is our fourth visit to Sorrento but we won’t be staying here again, I am sorry say.
Great hotel, amazing view of the bay, but terrible food.

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful hotel. With fantastic views of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. A very handy bus shuttle service into the centre of Sorrento. A special mention for Jack and Roberto in the dining room, who were very welcoming and a credit to the hotel.

I just spent 1 week in the hotel with my daughter. We had a lovely time. It’s spotlessly clean with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. We had a balcony with a garden view. There are millions of sunbeds and massive pool. There are also lovely gardens.

The food was great, lots of choice and they let you swap dinner for lunch.

The shuttle bus was great but would have like more times added. It would also be great if the hotel had a little shop selling essentials.

The staff were superb. Friendly and accommodating. Roberto , Brixton and Michel are the names I remember. The drinks are very reasonably priced and cheaper than the restaurants in the town.
The hotel has entertainment on every evening on the roof terrace with views to die for.
I went with TUI and it was a great experience. We also booked the Amalfi
Coast experience boat trip
With the hotel , which was a real highlight.

Staff VERY accommodating, i am a fussy eater so struggled with the food and they were more than happy to whip me up something else. Staff friendly (except the older man on reception who hated every time we asked him a question)

Half board allows for lunch OR dinner which is great!

FOOD- Set menu 5/7 days (accommodating and will make you something else if you don’t like it)

Overall really enjoyed the stay, Shuttle bus very useful.

Only thing i’d say is shuttle bus times - ends at 12:45 and isn’t another til 430pm. If they increased the frequency during the day it would be very helpful. You also can’t get a shuttle back after 23:15.
This wouldn’t be an issue if you could walk back, however the roads are extremely unsafe! especially for older adults/kids.

Lovely hotel, in a beautiful position just outside Sorrento, on a hill overlooking Bay of Naples
There is a very reliable and frequent free shuttle bus to and from Sorrento so getting about not a problem. It’s a walkable distance to the town, but there are no footpaths for a lot of the walk so we decided against it
The hotel is large and spacious and very clean.
Staff all friendly and helpful (we arrived late at night and a cold meal was left in our room for us which was very welcome!)
Pool is a good size, with a pool bar, and there are plenty of sunbeds
Food - We were half board (which could be taken as lunch or evening meal). The evening meal was 3 courses with plenty of choice and generous portions. The menu changed daily. The food was good, though not excellent and bizarrely a lot of the menu stated that the meals were from frozen sources. Breakfast was fine - usual selection of pastries, fruit, yogurt, cheese, meats or cooked options. The juices weren’t great and coffee was average
Room - we paid for a balcony room with view and it was worth the extra for that view every morning! The room was large, clean, nicely decorated and with a large comfortable bed. There was no tea / coffee making facilities which was a shame.
The bathroom was also fine with a good shower, albeit over the bath. Toiletries were a bit sparse, just body wash and soap, but I had my own so not a problem
Overall, we enjoyed our stay there and I would recommend the hotel
