The cleanliness, the level of reception, the hospitality, and the exceptional commitment to the guest's comfort were outstanding. They pay attention to the finest details, such as food allergies, which I personally suffer from. I would like to thank all the staff, with a very special and immense thanks to the Dining Room Manager, Mr. Wibowo, for his dedication, alongside his team and the Head Chef. The Marriott chain never disappoints me.

Stayed here for a business trip and had to bring the kids along. The hotel’s perfect centralized location in Jakarta made everything convenient — close to business areas yet easy to explore.

The team went above and beyond to keep the children happy: a lovely chocolate welcome and a fully set-up in-house tent were ready without us asking. That thoughtful touch really stood out.

The gym is one of the best I’ve seen in any 5-star hotel — well-equipped and motivating.

Breakfast offered excellent variety, with the Indian spread being the absolute star for me.

I stayed at JW Marriot from April 9-21, 2026

As a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum member, I appreciated that the hotel proactively offered a complimentary upgrade to a Governor Suite prior to my arrival.

Unfortunately, the experience became disappointing due to inconsistent communication. The upgrade was confirmed in advance, and I agreed to move to the suite the following morning. However, when I came down at the agreed time, I was informed that the suite was unavailable because the current guest would be checking out late due to their Platinum Elite benefits. Later, I was given a different explanation and informed that the suite had actually been available, but an issue with the room had delayed the move.

While I understand that operational issues can happen, the conflicting explanations created unnecessary confusion and diminished my confidence in the information being provided. In the end, I decided not to proceed with the upgrade.

Beyond this experience, the hotel feels somewhat dated compared to other Marriott properties in Jakarta. There were also occasions when an unpleasant smell could be noticed in the room.

Breakfast at Sailendra offered a good variety of food options. However, I found the service experience inconsistent. While some associates were professional and attentive, not all staff members were equally warm and welcoming.

Overall, the stay was acceptable, but clearer communication, more consistent service, and room refurbishment would significantly improve the guest experience.

JW Marriott Jakarta is a solid choice in the heart of the city, carried largely by its excellent staff, great location, and comfortable rooms.

The Room
The rooms are fantastic — spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable throughout. Wi-Fi was reliable and consistent. One practical note for fellow guests: the marble bathroom flooring can get quite slippery when wet, so do take care. It’s a minor point but worth flagging.

Dining & The Lounge
The ground floor breakfast can get busy during peak hours, which is worth keeping in mind if you prefer a quieter start to the day. That said, the lounge is excellent — a much more relaxed and elevated experience. A particular highlight was the staff’s willingness to arrange a small, private meeting room during breakfast hours, which was incredibly thoughtful and genuinely useful. One important note for families: the lounge is not accessible to children, so if you’re travelling with kids under 13, it’s worth speaking to the staff in advance — they may be able to work something out depending on availability and circumstances.

Location
The location is a real strength. The surrounding neighbourhood is pleasant for a morning or evening stroll, and the hotel is conveniently close to several major malls, making it easy to shop, dine, or explore without needing to travel far.

Overall
Compared to other JW properties globally, this one feels slightly more dated and perhaps a notch below in terms of physical product. However, what it may lack in modernity, it more than makes up for with its people — the staff here are warm, proactive, and genuinely hospitable in a way that is hard to find. A very comfortable and memorable stay overall.

Iba in the business lounge was friendly, helpful, and very professional. She made me feel very welcome and and this resulted in a pleasant and productive sta.

The staff and their services.

We stayed at The JW Marquis last week for 5 nights and had a wonderful experience.
Nothing was too much trouble for every member of staff from security to reception to bar staff to kitchen staff.
There is a real feeling of care and warmth in this hotel. Food selection in both Maya an the club lounge was exceptional and the staff were especially helpful providing gluten free food for our celiac daughter.
On my birthday the staff decorated our room and gave me decorations, a cake and flowers, it was so kind.
We look forward to returning when we move to Jakarta this summer.

Strategically located in the heart of Mega Kuningan. I was upgraded for my one night to a massive suite which was appreciated. Lounge was decent with good service. The hotel decoration style is quite dated which is not to my taste but may suit others. You can often find very good price point here which makes it a good option

The room was so spacious. Everything was modern. We liked the atmosphere and the service. I wanna thank our loyalty executive Varrel. He made sure we had an amazing time during our short stay.
