Not really a 5 star hotel. Room was not clean. Things were broken in the room. Size of room was small. Heard garbage trucks in the early am. Breakfast was mediocre. Not 5 star quality.

Very Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the InterContinental Name
Pros:

This is by far the worst InterContinental hotel I have ever stayed at. The level of service was extremely disappointing and fell well below the standards I expect from the InterContinental brand.

The staff were unprofessional, unwelcoming, and showed little interest in assisting guests. As an IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite member, I expected my loyalty to be acknowledged and valued, but it was completely overlooked.

To make matters worse, the sink in my room was faulty and required maintenance during my stay. Instead of resolving the issue promptly and minimizing the inconvenience, it disrupted my stay and wasted valuable time that I had planned to spend resting.

In my opinion, this property feels more like a 4-star hotel than a true luxury InterContinental. The overall experience did not justify the premium price, especially when compared to neighboring hotels that provide significantly better service and value.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel. Based on my experience, I would not choose to stay here again.

A Totally Wonderful Stay
Pros:

We stayed at this property as a family from 28th June to 3rd July and it was such a wonderful stay . I had come to Edinburgh previously and had stayed in property in the Old Town but this time I decided it would have been easier to stay in The New town area s there are so many good restaurants around here .
The hotel itself is not new but the room is large and my room comes with a bathtub . Housekeeping was great and you get complimentary soft drinks in the mini bar as well as two large bottles of water daily .
My room did not have a view ( it was overlooking an old building and a construction site- which was very quiet actually ) which was ok as it was super quiet and I had really good sleep .
The bed in the room is huge and the room also has a small table as well as a writing desk with Nespresso machine and a kettle .
Breakfast was good although they could have had more variety in the fruit selection ( some berries would have been nice so I brought my own from Marks & Spencer ) . Services at breakfast / reception and concierge were super efficient .
The gym is alright . Small but why would you want to spend more than an hour in there when you are in such a wonderful walking / hiking city that is Edinburgh .
Would come back to this hotel in the future for sure .

Decent option but not value for money
Pros:

Great Location, Great Atmlsphere around the area, Good rooms but very small and AC not working needs to be controlled from House keeping, Value I would prefer to stay at Marriott better value and better rooms also, cleanliness is very good housekeeping deed decent work, Noise Level very bad early in morning people working and smacking could be heard and woke us up, Amenities not great at all no vale no parking only, they give coupon to park 1kms away from property and on that we get some discount, and we park at Marriott property location so yet another reason.
Thanks to Prachi we had a pleasant experience at the hotel, she single handedly was helping us with our smooth checkin to helping us get best possible rooms to luggage delivery to our room to managing and helping us get extra bottles of water to helping us set our room temperature set from central unit to even packing our breakfast at the time of early morning checkout. She was the super star for us making our stay so so comfortable all cheers to her…

Pros:

We had a comfortable and beautiful room with a wonderful view of the city!! Everyone was friendly and helpful! The location is the best, and is one of the reasons I returned to this hotel! The breakfast was also good. I recommend it!
