Terrific hotel
Pros:

This is a terrific hotel well situated near the old Town but right on the beach. Lovely facilities, friendly helpful staff. Our room was kept immaculately clean and we felt very well looked after. Good sized balcony with sea view. Particularly enjoyed the beach club..no shortage of sun beds or places in the beach bar/restaurant. Interesting menu. Not cheap but not overly expensive either. Really felt high end in facilities and standards.

Fantastic Stay
Pros:

We visited Amare in June, as two couples. We had just an amazing time. The rooms were beautiful, clean and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve ever had. It had everything you could have wanted, and it was all really fresh and tasty. Drinks and food were great. We ate both at the beach and by the pool, where service was quick at both. Perfect location too, with just a short ten minute walk to the beautiful old town. All in all, I’d have no hesitation recommending the Amare hotel.

Pros:

Just back from a 7 day stay at Amare so wanted to give a comprehensive review.
I’ll start with the positives
The Roof top bar is fab, service was fast, little nibbles a nice touch and it gets the last of the evening sunshine, space is limited so get there early. There’s entertainment too which was enjoyable.
The housekeeping throughout the hotel and for the rooms is impeccable and the staff very friendly. Beds really comfortable and no noise heard overnight so slept really well.
Hotel Location is excellent right in the promenade and close to Marbella old town only. 5-10 minutes walk.
Great products in the room and complementary razor, toothbrushes, toiletries etc
Some really friendly staff, shout out to Sam who was a highlight and always smiling and helpful at the pool.
There are sweets dotted throughout the hotel to help yourself to.
The Breakfast is amazing, great buffet options, hot and cold breakfasts, fresh fruit was amazing and again staff were lovely.
Being seated by someone on arrival means the fast arrival of coffee and fresh juice but does cause some long queues after about 830am as people queue to be seated for breakfast so get there early.
Excellent choices for gluten free options in the buffet as well.
Beautiful view from the balcony for breakfast if sitting outside, prime location to watch the towel wars on the sunbeds as people try to reserve before their breakfast!
Some of the pool entertainment, like the musicians and violinist was really enjoyable. The dj out by the pool was a tad too loud if you’re trying to relax in the sun or read, it’s very much a party vibe if that’s what you’re after.
Comfy sunbeds but be prepared to get up super early to snag one and then stay there as you can’t leave it unattended or be warned!
Unfortunately the downsides outweigh all of the above so for this reason I wouldn’t return to Amare. The sunbed issue is trying to be managed with stickers when people leave a towel and go for breakfast however it also works against u when u are in the pool or jacuzzi, so don’t be any longer than 30mins lounging in the pool or jacuzzi or you’ll come back to find all your stuff removed even your clothes and flipflops, so a better system is needed. Large groups fair better than couples as they can rotate getting the early morning sunbeds and minding them as various people head off for breakfast and lunch. A lunch sign is only an option if you’re eating in Amare beach bar we were told but not if you’re popping to your room for a quick bite. Given we ate in the beach bar on half board every evening we didn’t want to have lunch there as well.
The beach is fairly exposed with steep access and rocks into the water, calmer areas are located further up the beach area. Daily JCB’s working on the beach moving sand around was a bit annoying til 11am most mornings.
Another issue was the smoking, you can smoke everywhere in Amare, at breakfast on the balcony and on the terrace areas, in the beach club restaurant inside and outside it, on sunbeds, in the bar and lounge areas. It really was excessive to have to breadth in second hand smoke everywhere u turn. The hotel should consider some smoking or smoke free areas especially for sunbathing and eating.
Smoking wasn’t the only activity going on by the pool, some very large groups partying and were utilising other recreational items, with a few bags of stuff dropped around the seating areas which really changed the vibe in the pool area. There was a real mixed bag of clientele during our stay, some large groups seeking the Ibiza party vibe, some older guests relaxing. Lots of groups for hens, stags, golf, groups of friends for birthdays etc
It did on occasion get a bit rowdy and argumentative at times around the pool after a day of drinking. large groups congregated and saved sunbeds for each other, so they took over large areas of space around the pool and jacuzzi and made it largely uncomfortable to battle through them to get into it.
We were disappointed to find dinner was an al a carte option with a set menu only every night with no buffet option, limited changes were available even simple condiments didn’t appear to be offered, despite asking various people. There doesn’t appear to be any option to changes such as seeking garlic mayo or a pepper sauce or garlic butter for a steak as it wasn’t available, steak came plain, no sauce. While the menu had lots of options it lacked any ability to customise if u didn’t like a combination or needed to remove an ingredient for any reason. The evening restaurant wasn’t overly busy most nights yet service was extremely slow so be prepared to spend a few hours. The hotel are missing an opportunity to have a much higher half board clientele if they opened their breakfast buffet area at dinner time, the breakfast food quality and set up is amazing and so is the restaurant, terrace and balcony area so having an option to have dinner there would be a great option for half board guests.
They say first impressions matter and unfortunately our first impression wasn’t good, arriving to a huge queue at reception despite already having checked in online. Once we did get to the desk we were told our room wasn’t ready so come back and queue again after 3pm. There was no mention of the welcome drink that was offered for online check in so we asked at the bar on -2 and were met with a very harassed lady who said she was too busy and would get someone else to scan a qr code. I wasn’t aware I had a QR code as nothing was said at reception so I went though my emails and there it was for scanning. A nice touch in reception would be to give people a welcome drink as they arrive, at least it creates a good impression while u stand and wait to get to the top of a queue. Check out was a similar queue and to be honest more staff are needed at reception at key times as standing in long queues doesn’t leave a good impression of a hotel. Reception staff weren’t that friendly, there was little communication on checkin and check out or if you passed by reception.
The hotel art work on the lifts and dotted around wasn’t to my taste, nor even sure what the concept was.
Cocktails and drinks were pricey with minimal alcohol in any of the cocktails we tried, they were mainly syrup and really sweet, for someone who doesn’t drink that often they had no effect at all so day 2 we started buying our own drinks at the supermarket and making our own in pool friendly cups, you’re better off sticking to beer or wine if buying at Amare at least you know what you’ll get.
Overall the weeks experience was really disappointing, relaxation was our top priority on this holiday but unfortunately it was definitely lacking. If you’re after a party everyday it’s more for you.

Pros:

The amenities are in excellent condition. Its a very well maintained hotel. Staff are amazing and location is just what you need in Marbella

Cons:

If you want to relax the hotel is ideal. However if you want more lively atmosphere with louder music or party crowd then this is not the hotel for you. The visitors are mostly from a specific age group which works perfectly for them.

Me esperaba más
Pros:
