Super Wonderful Hotel Experience
Pros:

As a long-time domestic and international traveler, , staying for three nights at Hotel Grano de Oro was a simply fabulous experience. The hotel has luxurious old world charm. Our room had a private garden with incredibly lush plants and the dining room and courtyard were absolutely beautiful combining elegance and European style with contemporary appointments . The entire staff including Carlos the dining room manager, were extremely attentive and engaging. If you’re in San Jose, this would be my top choice to places to stay. We definitely will be returning.

Great Boutique Hotel in San Jose
Pros:

On our tour to Costa Rica we spent our first and last nights in San Jose at the Hotel Grano de Oro. It was an excellent choice. Instead of the sterile could-be-anywhere typical downtown hotel we were treated to a small boutique hotel built in and around a historic 19th century mansion. Super friendly, helpful staff, a delightful in-house restaurant and lovely rooms rounded out a great experience. If you are traveling on your own stay here. If you are booking a private tour ask if they can lodge you at the Hotel Grano de Oro.
