Pros:

Cons:

If poor customer service is your thing, this is the place for you (part 2)
Cons:

So we visited the place the second time 2 days later. I was travelling with 4 elderly

One of the rooms that we were allocated was outside the main building. There were no instructions on the check in message regarding the special location of the room. The only info available was a map next to the elevator that confirmed the existence of the room but still with no information of its whereabouts. Apparently there was a metal gate that you can go through to reach there directly but the code I was given did not work. It took us 15 mins going around the building to look for the mysterious room.

After some effort, we did find the room. But because the gate cannot be opened, we needed to go inside the building just to get out from the another end with our luggage. Nobody travels to Iceland with a 5kg luggage. This detour involves 3 flights of stairs and bear in mind I'm travelling with elderly. Accessibility is an issue. We finally reached the room, but the code didnt work.

I called them to notify them about the accessibility issues and all the other problems we encountered. It could have been a better experience if they were at least empathetic or quick to fix the situation. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. From their perspective, customers are expected to raise "accessibility" issues as if we have had prior knowledge of their accommodation. And we actually did have prior knowledge as we have stayed there a couple of nights ago and we still struggled to locate the room. And accessibility is not just about obvious disabilities. Some older people will struggle with stairs with their luggage. From my layman perspective it is a simple and straightforward but obviously not so from a hospitality perspective. The operator I spoke to believed it was our issue. Not theirs. The inconvenience caused the lack of directions was also not an issue from them.

Pros:

Highly recommended accommodation. It is in an excellent location, just two minutes from the city center, two minutes from the seaside, and 15 minutes from the main bus station. The departure points for excursions are also nearby. The apartment is very clean and exceptionally well equipped. The bed is extremely comfortable. I highly recommend it!

This accommodation was all we wished for and we had a very comfortable economical and peaceful stay in the studio flat
Pros:

Lift meant no need the climb stairs, the lift was very capacious and you could easily take bikes into your room using the lift. Cycling is very popular in Reykjavík with many cycle lanes. There are 2 alternative faster exits using stairs and one side entrance using stairs all doors securely locked using own private PIN number. Room had a mini kitchen equipped with everything except oven and dishwasher. The hob had an extractor fan and light. The room was pleasantly warm and the heating could be adjusted by a nob on the radiator under the window.
The property is well located for the old port and town Centre and is within walking distance of both. It is also close to various bus stops, including the flybus to the main airport port . The landlord somehow provided a 24 hour online help Service which was very useful in finding out further information. We really liked the capacious fridge which enabled us to do a lot of shopping in one go. The owner recommended a supermarket called Bonus which is only a short walk away and you can buy all your groceries at a reasonable price. The high price of eating out in Iceland meant that we were able to save a lot of money by making our own food. The luggage storage space was more than ample while we were waiting to check in. On the last night we went out for a 3 course meal and found that although it was expensive, the food was cooked to an extremely high standard and was well worth the £60 per head! The landlord kept us informed at every stage. At the end of your stay a message is sent requesting you to checkout. They advise correctly that it is important not to click the “checkout “ button until you have checked out as I think this cuts your Wi-Fi off!

Cons:

The kitchen only had one sharp knife. There were only two knives altogether however this was sufficient for making salads and cooking dishes. The bathroom sink could not be fitted with a plug though I think this could be standard in Iceland. As is often the case there was only one stand for resting a suitcase. We however, were able to use the three spare stools for resting a suitcase. The hooks for hanging coats strangely allowed coats to slip off.! Having to wait till 3 pm before we could occupy our room was a nuisance because we arrived early in the morning. Partly because nothing much opens in Iceland before 11 am I would advise anybody arriving early in the morning to book an extra night the for the night before you arrive.

Great location, easy to access
Pros:

It was well located near a tour stop and the walkable area of town. Really great location and easy to get in/out of the building. The remote check in/out made it convenient for us as we arrived at different times.

Cons:

The room was smaller than expected and we had to purchase silverware as the room did not have any for eating food on the room.

Ok pour une nuit
Pros:

Cons:
