Staff ecceptional
My family knows the hotel since the 1960s. It’s changed since then, of course. But it’s still beautiful, situated in an ideal spot with easy access to other cities, town center, shops, restaurants and beaches. Of course, the breakfast buffet is fantastic in the selection and quality of foods. The roof restaurants and bar are good though I found the bar lacking in service and nuts this time… The famous restaurant is as good as Michelin says! Service overall, reception, rooms, etc. is very efficient. Part of a beautiful scene.

Overall, I had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte. The hotel is beautiful, the service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and professional throughout my stay. I truly enjoyed my visit and would gladly recommend the hotel.
However, there was one incident on my first day that was never properly resolved. During the welcome reception, one of the waitresses accidentally spilled liquid on my very expensive suede shoes. She apologized and told me that someone from the hotel would come to my room to collect the shoes for professional cleaning.
Unfortunately, no one ever came. I waited, but nobody contacted me or followed up during the rest of my stay. I completed my stay and checked out without anyone from the hotel reaching out to me about the incident.
I tried to clean the shoes myself, but because they are made of suede, the liquid left a permanent stain. I completely understand that accidents can happen, and I do not blame the waitress for the accident itself. What disappointed me was the hotel’s lack of follow-up and the fact that no effort was made to resolve the situation after they promised they would.
Aside from this incident, everything else during my stay was excellent. I hope this feedback helps improve the way similar situations are handled in the future.
Absolutely the nicest hotel we have ever visited. Their service was incredible, friendly and well trained. They made us feel like family! Not to mention, the best breakfast buffet we have ever enjoyed. Their atmosphere, location and amenities were the best in Italy and we have been traveling to Italy for over 15 years. We highly recommend!
Loved the staff the artwork was over the top. Clean location pool everything was top. The breakfast was 5 star.
I can’t say I did not like anything.
Lovely location on wide Avenue with view of sea, the decor is stunning, impressive modern art, design and spotless.
Staff are charming and efficient and in particular the lovely Abigail in the breakfast dinning room, the Maitre d of the divine rooftop restaurant and the wonderful elegant knowledgeable lady in charge of the gorgeous pool.
Breakfast utterly sublime and the best we have had outside of Ireland. The choice and quality of cuisine was tops!
Felt like staying at the Ritz, and not a mid tier Ritz, a top tier Ritz. We were visiting on our 16th year anniversary trip in Italy. From the moment we arrived until our departure the staff was so accommodating, remembered our names, helped us with restaurants and suggested local things to do. They helped me switch rooms to one that met our needs, the ceilings are high everywhere, the room is gorgeous, bed is comfortable, turn down service unexpected, the gym and saunas downstairs were solid, and all the small amenities like bath salts and high quality shampoo. There's some kind of wonderful scent everywhere in the hotel too. Felt like a movie. We ate at the michelin restaurant on the first floor and the rooftop hotel restaurant. Both were great (warning, unlike most Michelin star restaurants this one really feeds you). Would come at Viareggio again just to stay at Hotel Principe. Shout out to Andre!
Literally, nothing. Was so hard to leave.
I took my mum here for her 70th Birthday. Our room was one of the more basic ones available but was still lovely and spacious. The breakfast is absolutely outstanding. By far and away the best selection and presentation I have ever seen. Everyone at the hotel is lovely, especially the lady at the pool (I didn't take her name) but she was super helpful and friendly, recommending areas for us to visit. Whilst there are not a huge amount of beds by the pool, we never had a problem obtaining one. We also ate in the Michelin starred restaurant - the food was exquisite and the servers were also at breakfast and remembered us which was nice. Thoroughly recommend.
