Pros:

I had a great stay at Meliá Berlin. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of food and plenty of choices for everyone. The location is excellent, with metro, train, and tram stations just outside the hotel, making it very easy to get around Berlin. Since the hotel is so centrally located, it’s also perfect for relaxing evening walks and exploring the city. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and a hotel I would definitely recommend. :)

Amazing central location to tour the city and great place to relax!
Pros:

The view and location was amazing for touring the city. The check-in and check-out process took less than 5 minutes. Staff was friendly. We were a bit worried about the noise from the train, but it was so quiet at night we didnt hear anything.

Cons:

The AC could have been a bit stronger, but I am an American so I am biased. However, it really wasn’t that bad for someone who already runs cold.

Ok for a short stay but not the best
Pros:

The property is in a very good location, the beds were comfortable and the room was very good size.

Cons:

The room was a bit 90s, the TV didn’t work at all and the shower was clogged. The bathroom wasn’t as clean as I would have liked. We reported the faulty things to reception but they never came to fix the issues. Not a deal breaker but I would expect more from a Melia hotel

Excellent location and quality hotel
Pros:

Excellent position, wonderful breakfast, spacious room, nice staff. Berlin is excellent

Cons:

Pillows were uncomfortable. Being in the centre of Berlin there are a few strange people but they are harmless

Einmal reicht. Danke. Braucht keine Wiederholung.
Pros:

Die Lage ist wunderbar.

Cons:

Fabulous hotel. Upgrade to level.
Pros:

We stayed at Melia level. It is very central, really near to S and U bahn and all the attractions are walkable you can usually get the S bahn direct from airport but engineering works meant we had a planes, trains and automobiles situation but easy on the way back. S bahn one stop and main station teain. Room was not ready but offered the pass for the level to get a coffee and cake etc. Room was spacious, big bed and a duvet each! Plus the additional touch of mini bar, bottle of bubbles and personalised message and a small verandah with a great view, especially of the sunset. . Rituals toiletries, robe and slippers. Breakfast - we tried level and main restaurant. Although the main restaurant has slightly more choice we preferred the serenity and personal service in the level. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive. The level is certainly worth the extra money. We got a late checkout at no extra cost and you could pop in any time for a snack or drink. Night time had a good range of wine and spirits and no limit. Food was good and I would say some people used this as their evening meal.
Fabulous stay and would highly recommend.

On the level
Pros:

Firstly, the hotel is located in a great location, with a lot of the sights of Berlin in easy walking distance. For going further afield, the hotel is very close to the U-Bahn & S-Bahn. The good news is that it isn’t a big, sprawling station like Alexanderplatz or Hauptbahnhof, so you won’t spend 10 minutes walking through the station trying to find your platform (quick tip, if you want to go East-West at Friedrichstrasse station then you go up above street level to get the trains, and if you want to go North-South then you go below street level to get the trains). There is also a stop for the river cruises just outside the hotel, and the main theatre for Berlin is just across the bridge (would recommend a visit to the theatre, as they put on spectacular visual shows, so it doesn’t really matter if you aren’t fluent in German). There are lots of bars along the river, just across the bridge, and there are also plenty of restaurants and eateries nearby.
The hotel itself is clean, modern and functional. The staff are efficient and helpful, and if you utilise the Melia App then you can check-in/out using that, thus saving time. The foyer is big, and provides many places to sit, plus an on-site tapas restaurant, which makes the area feel lively throughout the day. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. They also have opening full-length doors, so you can “bring the outside in”. Beds are comfortable and there is plenty of storage space. It would have been nice if the TV had been as smart TV (or an option to connect via HDMI to the existing TV), thus allowing access to streaming services for when you have a bit of downtime, but other than that (and the lack of USB sockets in the room), everything was as good as it gets.
We booked the Level Lounge upgrade, as we had previously used Level lounges in other Melia hotels, and we have found them to be a really good option. Breakfast is served from 06.30 until 11.00, with snacks throughout the remainder of the day. You can have breakfast in the main dining room, but we found that it was a more relaxed experience in the Level lounge, and as you can get table service for things like poached eggs, or omelettes, you won’t need to queue up at an egg station. The quality of the breakfast was really good, with plenty of choice. Other reasons we chose the Level lounge is that they serve bottled beer & soft drinks throughout the day, sparkling wine from around 11.00 onwards, and spirits between 18.00 & 21.00 (and tapas snacks to accompany the drinks), with the lounge closing at 22.00. It is also a place where you can kick-back during the day, and they even have a small smoking area on the balcony. Because the transport links are so good in Berlin, and the hotel is so centrally located, we found that we would be popping back to the hotel several times a day, so the lounge was a real boon.
If I was to revisit Berlin then I wouldn’t hesitate to book the Melia again, and of course adding the Level lounge to my visit would be a no-brainer..
