I did not like being under the ground, I.e. in the basement.

There seemed to be some form of cold air system that took me two nights sorting out. I knew London had a heat wave the previous week and it was still hot but walking into a cold room for me wasn’t comfortable.

Check-in is inconvenient (you have to go into another hotel “Merit” which is in a separate building down the street & carry bags up that set of stairs, then back down again and over to whatever building you get allocated for a room & do those stairs again). Not too bad if everything else had been okay, but we had a poor experience in every way.
We were then advised after arrival that the lift was broken and we’d have to take our 4 suitcases up the stairs to the 4th floor.
We were given a room with no air conditioning - they were already aware it was broken & put a fan in the room instead (this may have been adequate in Spring, but we’re in the middle of a heatwave & our room was over 30 degrees in the middle of the night!). We asked for the air conditioner to be repaired or to be given a room with working air conditioning (as we had booked & paid for) and were told no, it was too late at night & the managers aren’t contactable. I asked for a refund so we could go to a hotel across the road for the night, and was told no we had to wait until the morning. We used the fan & opened the window, but the street noise was so loud and the room was so stuffy & hot - it was incredibly uncomfortable, kept us from sleeping, and really put a dampener on our time in London because we were then so unwell. We didn’t get an apology or any offer to try & make up for the discomfort and not delivering what we purchased. Some of the staff across our stay were nice, but most were apathetic and even rude. We were glad to leave after 3 nights, and whilst we appreciated the hotel felt pretty safe and was in a convenient location, we wouldn’t ever return and wouldn’t recommend anyone book here if travelling for leisure/vacation when time is limited & you need somewhere comfortable & reliable to rest.

I booked this hotel during the London heatwave specifically because it advertised air conditioning. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in my room was leaking and could not be used. A portable unit was provided, but it was not powerful enough to cool the room, and I woke up during the night because the room remained too warm.

In addition, the room door had issues, and the windows couldn’t be closed tight.

What disappointed me most was the hotel’s handling of the complaint. Despite reporting the issues immediately and following up several times, I received little meaningful communication from the property. The response was dismissive, unapologetic and did not address the main issue I had raised, which was the main reason for my dissatisfaction.

En la habitación hacia bastante calor. Tenías que estar con el aire puesto todo el día.
