This would have been a good holiday if it wasn’t for lack of air conditioning in our room . The hotel have total control of the air conditioning in rooms and turned it off every day from 8am until 3pm Just when you need it most, the room took hours to cool down again once it was switched on again. Despite numerous complaints to reception they lied to us claiming initially it was faulty , we only found out from a repairman that they actively turn it off and did nothing other than provide a fan. If I had known that this was the case at this hotel I would not have booked. I booked a comfort plus room it was far from comfortable.
There were good points to this hotel , the WiFi was excellent as were the majority of staff, but I would never come back due to the lack of air conditioning and can’t wait to get home. Not worthy of a 4 star lots or half done repair work and faults.

This hotel is absolutely amazing. Its really modern, The rooms and food are excellent. So clean, And all the staff here cannot do enough for you. The rooms are keep spotlessly clean and the cleaners are brilliant. They are all so friendly and polite. The hotel is situated in a great area. Close to buggiba bus station, Shops, Bars, And restaurants. And its also not in a noisy area. Would I return. Yes 100%. Me and my son are having a wonderful time. We absolutely love our rooms. We go home next Tuesday and wish we were staying longer I will also add. You get free air conditioning, A free safe, And even a kettle, And coffee, Milk, tea and sugar. Also there is a great variety of food. There is something for every ones food palate here. Thank you for making mine and my sons a wonderful that we will have very fond memories off. We will see you next year and my daughter will also be coming with us. 😊

We have been to the Santana about 8 times now… we like the actual hotel and location and the staff are amazing. The hotel has under gone some extensions and upgrades recently which I think was needed, but our room we had 246 was a complete WiFi black spot … the room was small and badly designed, in my view . There was nowhere to put your toiletries in the bathroom except a small window sill … the balcony area was tiny but required a small table or something to sit out with. We were unfortunate to be right next to two rooms that were occupied by two groups of young lads who thought it was ok to scream and shout until early mornings on their balconies… we couldn’t sit out on ours because of this… Their also seems to be a power problem at the locations as our AC kept on defaulting to half power mode when you needed it most.. we had this before when we stayed..
The new Pool area is outstanding and really enjoyed our relaxing times up there, but I witnessed some dangerous actions by the youths that used the pool, jumping in the pool from elevated areas … an accident waiting to happen… I was a bit worried that there was never a lifeguard present to prevent this and to generally over see people’s safety in the water… I thought this would be part of a H&S law to provide round the clock supervision.
The Breakfast was outstanding as always .

This hotel is extremely clean with exceptional staff.Rooms are modern and comfortable. Breakfast is brill. Only tiny gripe the juices are not great.All in all this hotel is very good value for money and the location couldn't be better

We had a lovely time at the hotel. Returned home 17th June there was some building work happening but didn't spoil anything, food was very good plenty choice. The hotel was very clean all the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice air con working very well the only thing we found about the room was there was no plug socket beside the beds my partner uses a breathing machine when sleeping so needed to move a bed to other side which was not a problem. There was construction work opposite the hotel but didn't spoil anything.

This is quite a decent 4* hotel. Food was really good, although not a huge choice, it was always hot and was constantly being topped up. We found it to be very clean. The restaurant staff were excellent and the tables were soon cleared. We didn't use the bar, we went out in the evening. The roof top pool was a lovely quiet area, with plenty of sunbeds. There is some building works going on in the rooftop area, but it didn't affect us at all. There was an outside courtyard, which didn't seem to be used, which I felt was a wasted space.
The hotel is a 3 minute walk to the bus station and we got a bus timetable from the hotel. There are plenty of bars and restaurants around, but I felt the area was a bit grubby and lots of litter around.
I would recommend this hotel.

Customer service was not great. The hotel had just gone through a refurb and air conditioning was not working.

Lovely hotel and staff. Great location nice breakfast let down by no air con. Every time I told staff they would explain how it worked. They would not listen. There was a lot of complaints while I stayed there so clearly a problem. My friend was in 246 his air con was fine. We were 126 and absolutely awful. I had a fan but honestly it ruined our holiday so hot at night and getting ready. They gave me a card to leave in my room but the maid would turn it off any way. Really wouldn’t use the hotel again.

Recommend a stay when refurbishment is finished .
The most significant issues was that the air conditioning in our rooms did not work for the entirety of our holiday. During our stay, temperatures were around 30°C, and we relied on the air conditioning to cool down to escape the heat. Instead, our rooms were consistently hot, uncomfortable, and suffocating.
It became unpleasant to return to the room at any point during the day, including when we needed to get ready to go out snd sleep was extremely uncomfortable. None of us wanted to spend time in the room because we knew it would be unbearably hot. Even with the balcony door open, there was no cool breeze, and the room remained excessively warm.
Throughout the week, we repeatedly reported the issue to reception. We were continually told that the air conditioning problem was “being looked into.” However, it became clear that there was a known fault and that the system was simply not working. We feel that guests were deliberately misled by management through the information reception staff were instructed to provide.
It was only on the final night of our stay, after I informed reception that I had resorted to sleeping on the floor because it was the coolest place in the room, and that we would otherwise sleep in reception where the air conditioning was functioning, that we were finally provided with a fan. This was far too late and did not resolve the issue.
We specifically paid for accommodation advertised as having air conditioning. It is completely unacceptable to pay for this facility and then be subjected to these conditions while being repeatedly given inaccurate information about the situation. The lack of honesty from management regarding the fault was particularly disappointing.
We were aware that some work was continuing following the refurbishment of the hotel. However, we were not informed that drilling and construction noise would begin as early as 7:30 a.m. This significantly disrupted our holiday and ability to rest.
Furthermore, there appeared to be inadequate health and safety arrangements in place. From the pool area on the 8th floor, there was no visible stair access, only lifts. In the event of a fire or emergency, lifts would be unavailable, which raises serious concerns about evacuation procedures and guest safety. Fire doors were installed during our stay which obviously caused more noise.
The rooftop pool was also small for the number of guests using it. This resulted in overcrowding and could only be used for dipping to cool off as too small to swim. Additionally, waiters were required to repeatedly travel up and down in the lifts to serve drinks, which seemed highly inefficient and further highlighted the limitations of the facilities as the roof top area is not completed.
I would like to emphasise that the hotel staff, particularly those working on reception and in the restaurant, bar areas abd cleaners were very accommodating and professional throughout our stay. They did their best under difficult circumstances and were clearly working within the instructions and limitations imposed by management.
Given the severity of these issues, particularly the lack of functioning air conditioning throughout our stay and the misleading information provided regarding the fault with the air conditioning I would recommend to visit once reovations are finished unless you're going for a short stay or don't mind staying where there is no air con.
The breakfast is plentiful and very nice, we did not have lunch or dinner in the hotel.

Air conditioning very poor. Rooms look out on another block of appartments no view. Pool is tiny dipping pool only.I you like to swim forget it. Roof top bar area still not open.Staff helpfull but firefighting.You are out of the breakfast room at 10.00 exactly.Food good.decor Good

It's a real shame the waiting staff are excellent but the management are incompetent. We have been here a week without air conditioning and keep getting fobbed off with non sensical excuses and maintenance men that are always on their way but never turn up. The rooms are like saunas you will not sleep avoid at all costs.

This hotel was rated as a 4 star, definitely not. No aircon in the rooms and it took 5 days to get aa electric fan from management, after having to ask more than 5 times.
Advertised with a Spa, Gym and indoor pool - there were none of these only a small pool on the roof. Not large enough for an 8 floor hotel.
Staff were very friendly and helpful (except reception).
Good location, less than 10 minute walk to the promenade.

The hotel had only been open a week when we arrived. First impressions were good. However once we settled in to our room there were several issues, main one being the air conditioning didn’t work, it was 28-29 degrees daily so you can imagine how hot the room was. Another issue was lack of plug sockets, the room had 1 double socket which for 2 people in a room is ridiculous. The room also had no mirror near the sockets, so drying our hair was an issue. I think that these are things that should have been thought of when renovating the hotel, which actually wasn’t even finished.

Under construction- 3 floors to go. Indoor pool & spa closed - construction. Drilling begins 7.30am ea morning.

General areas bright & clean.
Bar small but nice. No entertainment.

I enjoyed my stay, although I had a few teething problems, no WiFi or air-conditioning. I was moved at the first opportunity. Amazingly accommodating staff, nothing was to much trouble .
The reception staff were always positive and attentive .
When this hotel is finished it will fabulous..
The roof top pool was beautiful everything was brand new even had waiter service .
I'm pleased I chose this hotel great rooms location, staff and a very varied selection of food .

This is my last night here and can honestly say it's been perfect. The breakfast and dinner options where fantastic with options varied each night (tonight's pork was the best I've had). Rooftop pool good with loungers, both in sun and out, always available. Room was good, some issues but reception and maintenance was quick to rectify these. Staff polite and friendly, what was perfect was being able to get food and drink straight at your lounger. Only downside was the construction around the hotel (no fault to the hotel) but from what I've seen this is the same for quite a few areas in malta. Area seemed safe although I never ventured far from hotel after sunset but from sitting on balcony people watching there never seemed to be any trouble.
