The staff were amazing. We had some issues during our stay with the AC unit..which the reception staff dealt with fantastically.
Although it's a 4 star hotel, it didn't feel that way. The room was outdated in need of a good carpet clean, the light by the bed wasn't working. The swiming pool doesn't have someone there to offer towels/slippers. You can ask for a towel from the reception. Bring your own slippers! There are baby classes Saturday and Sunday morning, meaning the already small pool is limited to one lane for swimming for all hotel guests. I say swimming but it's that small that if you put 2 adults in, you have no space to swim. Also, the opening hours are not great. If you are out and about exploring, and come back at 19, tough luck, you don't get to swim. This is Saturday and Sunday. During the week you can go in until 20, which is still too early.
The breakfast is lacking. They ran out of baked beans at the early hours of the day. We gave the restaurant a try in the evening and they didn't have pasta, they didn't have pork ribs, it was more of what do you offer then dince yhe menu is irrelevant?
Oh and they have parking, their own parking but you still pay £12 per 24h. Why?? No idea...
The breakfast was terrible. The quality and presentation was awful. The orange juice tasted sour and the sausages were tasteless, dry and poor quality
Location was good and all staff were excellent.

Everything we needed. This was booked for someone facilitating a workshop for us and she was very comfortable.

The hotel’s location was ideal for our three-night stay, as we wanted a comfortable base from which to explore both the Peak District and Lincolnshire.
We made good use of the swimming pool and jacuzzi during our stay. Unfortunately, the sauna was not working, which was a little disappointing.
All the staff were very pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast was also very good, with a good selection of options.
Overall, we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay and found the hotel to be a great base for exploring the surrounding areas.
Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with the bedroom. The room felt extremely small for a double bed, with only around 30 cm of space between the end of the bed and the wall.
A large-screen TV was mounted on the wall directly in this restricted space, which made moving around the room quite awkward. Each time we walked past the end of the bed, we had to be extremely careful not to hit our head, and there was even a concern about accidentally injuring our eyes on the TV.
We did not feel that the layout and arrangement of the room were well designed, particularly given how limited the available space was. For the price we paid for three nights, we expected a more spacious and comfortable bedroom. This was the main disappointment of our stay.
The location is pretty good and opposite a pub which is a good option for causal food and drinks without getting too rowdy. It's secure and the bed is pretty comfortable.
It is important to note that the doors do close at around 11:00 pm to midnight and you will have to be buzzed in but that just adds to the safety of the building. Additionally, you cannot open a tab at the bar and have to pay as you order.
