Die Lage ist sehr gut. Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral im Herzen von Akureyri.
Leider hat das Zimmer meine Erwartungen nicht ganz erfüllt. Es war eher klein und bot entsprechend wenig Platz.
Auch das Badezimmer hätte meiner Meinung nach dringend eine Renovation nötig. Zudem lief der Ventilator im Badezimmer die ganze Zeit, was auf Dauer störend war.
Unser Zimmer lag zum Hinterhof. Um dorthin zu gelangen, musste man zunächst einen Stock nach oben durch einen anderen Trakt gehen und anschliessend wieder zwei Stockwerke nach unten. Mit den Koffern war dieser Weg ziemlich umständlich und wenig komfortabel.
Besonders enttäuschend war ausserdem, dass sich weder Bade- noch Handtücher auf dem Zimmer befanden. Ich musste deshalb meine eigenen Handtücher benutzen.
Das Frühstücksbuffet entsprach grundsätzlich der Kategorie des Hotels. Leider waren während unseres Frühstücks viele Speisen bereits leer. Das Personal musste mehrfach aktiv darauf hingewiesen werden, bevor das Buffet wieder aufgefüllt wurde.
Insgesamt hätte ich bei einem Hotel dieser Kategorie mehr Komfort und eine bessere Ausstattung des Zimmers erwartet.
A classic, well-run hotel with an excellent location, right next to the iconic Akureyri Church and in the heart of the town. It is a very convenient base for exploring Akureyri on foot.
The room was comfortable, the bed was good, and the facilities provided everything I needed for a pleasant stay. Overall, a reliable and comfortable choice in a perfect location.

it was a little hot in the room and there was a constant air vent next to our window but these were minor inconveniences

The room was not in good location
Excellent location with easy access through town to HOF and the port. Very friendly staff and they agreed to store my luggage while on a side trip to Grimsey. Room size was a little bigger than the teeny standard rooms I’ve stayed in. Bathroom was super duper tiny, but workable. The only uncomfortable part was you could not sit or lay on the edge of the bed without feeling like you were going to slide off of it. Might be because they use memory foam or don’t turn the mattress every so often.
