Would like to know from which galaxy it received its 4 stars?
Pros:

My daughter and l are people people, and the staff gave off a prisoner vibe, so it was really difficult to like anything about this dungeon.

Cons:

The hotel smelled so strongly of room freshener that you really did wonder what the problem was. I was literally gagging from the overuse and couldn`t take my shoes off on the carpet - as the smell made you think it was covering something much worse. The layout of the hotel was confusing as was the signage BUT not as confusing as the answer the staff gave when you couldn`t find your way out! I think they had some kind of competition going on to see how many guests they could `unhelp` On top of that, the staff and their lack of - for want of a better word "enthusiasm" - was demoralising. I have never ever not been greeted at the hotel reception desk when checking out without a "Gooding Morning how was your stay? "no matter what the national language! Maybe these things seem inconsequential and didn't really impact on our stay that much but it`s a really bad sign when the smell of the corridor you are on puts you off booking a seat in the restaurant!

Bien situé dans Bristol et bon niveau
Pros:

Cons:

le bruit des (gros) oiseaux

Lovely hotel with lots of character in a great location for the concert we were going to. Also had car parking which is
Pros:

Lovely old building, smelt lovely. Our room was in the ground floor which was easy.

Cons:

The breakfast was downstairs in a lounge room rather than in the miller and carter on site restaurant.

Good, possibly better with some finessing
Pros:

Surroundings, bed, fan, shower were all good. Car parking underneath the hotel was good, if not very tight to park.

Cons:

Excess payment for breakfast, as it really should be included.

A fabulous weekend in a beautiful, historic hotel, right in the centre of Bristol.
Pros:

Location is excellent, rooms were clean and well serviced. The parking on site is a real bonus. I loved the history of the building. The palm room is stunning.

Cons:

The breakfast was very average. I am a vegan and was not catered for at all. There are easy ways to make a breakfast vegan friendly eg/ having peanut butter available is always good. Having maple syrup rather than honey. Being able to request vegan sausages and having a vegan yoghurt would be great. For a hotel of that size I would think that there are vegan guests every day and knowing that you cater for vegans would definitely encourage me to satay with you again.

Also, my favourite tipple is a G and T and I really would prefer a fever tree tonic rather than one on tap.

Appreciate it was testing conditions for staff, should more staff on to accommodate.
Pros:

Location

Cons:

Air conditioning not working, view from room horrible roof and didn’t have enough room keys. Had to wait ages when arrived after long journey as not enough staff. The swimming pool gone few years ago but not updated

Very poor
Pros:

I really liked the property just not what happened upon arrival.

Cons:

My partner and I were looking to stay at the Marriott Royal after getting recently engaged. We were in Bristol few hours earlier than check in. Went to reception to check my car in, in the garage. Went back to check in to be told that they needed to cancel my stay due to a system issue, no prior updates, no call, no signs nothing. Luckily we were able to get a hotel elsewhere but this was embarrassing especially for a Marriott hotel. Won’t be going back again in a rush if this is what happens. Still haven’t received the refund for my stay either.
